1. Kid Attendance & Substitutes
Kidpreneur Markets are designed for kids to actively run their own businesses.
- If a Kidpreneur cannot attend an event, a parent or adult may not attend to sell on their behalf.
- In some cases, another Kidpreneur may be approved to sell on their behalf, but this must be requested and approved in advance.
- Adult-only substitutions are not permitted.
2. Similar Businesses Are Allowed
The Kidpreneur Club welcomes all young entrepreneurs and does not limit participation based on product type.
- We do not guarantee exclusive placement or separation from similar businesses.
- Many kids begin with similar products (such as jewelry or crafts), and learning how to evolve and differentiate is part of the experience.
- Complaints about nearby businesses selling similar items will not result in reassignment or removal.
3. Products Must Be Kid-Made (No Resale Policy)
The heart of The Kidpreneur Club is kid-created businesses.
- Starting in 2026, resale of already-made items is not permitted.
- Products must be made by the Kidpreneur or meaningfully modified or customized by the Kidpreneur.
- Parents may assist only when necessary for safety reasons (for example: cutting tools, heat, or sharp materials).
- Products that are primarily adult-made, mass-produced, or unmodified resale items are not allowed.
- The Kidpreneur Club reserves the right to ask questions or request clarification if products do not align with this expectation.
4. No-Refund Policy
The Kidpreneur Club is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and registration fees support program costs.
- Registration fees are non-refundable if a Kidpreneur cannot attend an event.
- In cases of hardship or extenuating circumstances, families may request a review by emailing danielle@thekclub.org.
- Refunds or credits, if approved, are granted at the discretion of The Kidpreneur Club.
5. Financial Responsibility & Learning
Part of entrepreneurship is learning financial responsibility.
- Families are encouraged to help Kidpreneurs understand startup costs.
- Kidpreneurs are encouraged (but not required) to repay money borrowed for supplies or startup expenses as part of their learning experience.
6. Behavior & Conduct (Kids AND Parents)
Kidpreneurs and parents/guardians are expected to behave respectfully at all events.
- Disrespectful, disruptive, or inappropriate behavior toward Kidpreneurs, families, volunteers, staff, or venue partners will not be tolerated.
- The Kidpreneur Club reserves the right to remove a participant or family from an event if behavior becomes disruptive or unsafe.
- Removal due to behavior does not qualify for a refund.
7. Parent Role at Events
Kidpreneur Markets are learning experiences designed for kids to practice real-world business skills.
- Kidpreneurs should be the primary ones interacting with customers, explaining products, handling payments, and making change.
- Parents are encouraged to step back and allow kids time to learn, even if it means slower conversations or transactions.
- Parents may support quietly from behind the table but should not take over customer interactions.
- If a family would like to participate as an adult-run business, they may register for an adult vendor space (when available) and involve their child in a supporting role.
- At Kidpreneur events, this is the child’s business.
8. Appearance & Dress Code
All participants must be dressed appropriately for a family-friendly, community-focused environment.
- Clothing should be suitable for public events, including those held at assisted living facilities or family venues.
- Clothing that is overly revealing or inappropriate for a family audience is not permitted.
- This applies to all participants, regardless of age or gender.
- Families may be asked to make adjustments if attire is not appropriate for the setting.
