  • Workshops are for families who are in their third trimester or who have a baby that is under 6 months (at the time of the workshop)

    If you are earlier in your pregnancy do not fill this out yet, come back once you are at least 28 weeks. If your child is over 6 months please reach out to The Safety Council 225-282-3281 for information about low cost seats.

  • Cribs & Car Seats + CPR Workshop - 8:45am-1pm

    • The Cribs and Car Seats + CPR Workshop is your one stop for safety education and preparation for your new baby.
    • This workshop will teach you about safe sleep, car seat safety, CPR and choking resuce.
    • Upon completion, you will earn a portable crib, convertible car seat (that will fit from birth till age 5), emergency escape tool, diapers and more. 
    • You may only attend a workshop once to earn items and can only receive one set of items per family. 
    • Please feel free to bring snacks as the workshop lasts 4 hours.
    • Your partner/support person is absolutely welcome. 
    • You must pick a date that is in your 3rd trimester (at least 28 weeks) and not any earlier.
    • Space is limited so please only sign up if you actually can attend. A $5 nonrefundable donation is required to sign up. 
    • You must be on time and attend the entire workshop to earn your items. No exceptions. Please make sure your schedule allows for this.
    • Class is taught in English but we do have Spanish translators that can attend. 
    • Children may not attend (unless it is a newborn) and we do not provide childcare.

     

     

    Workshop starts promptly at 9. Late admits will not be allowed and you will not be able to reschedule.

  • If you are expecting multiples, please note that you will only earn one set of items. Additional items may be purchased for a reduced cost at the time of the workshop. Please select if you plan to purchase.

  • Please be sure to register for a workshop that occurs during your third trimester, rather than earlier in pregnancy. We offer one to two workshop dates each month, and additional future dates will be added to the registration page as they become available.

  • Rear Facing Car Seat Assistance

    For children 6 months -2 years (or under 30#)

  • There are no appointments avaliable at this time to earn a rear facing car seat. Please check back later or you can reach out to The Safety Council at 225-282-3281 for information about low cost seats. 

  • Forward Facing Car Seat Assistance

    For Children at least 2 years and 30# up to 5 years

  • There are no appointments avaliable at this time to earn a forward facing car seat. Please check back later or you can reach out to The Safety Council at 225-282-3281 for information about low cost seats.

  • If you have already received items from us, you do not qualify for a workshop at this time. Feel free to come visit us at our With Love, Community Essentials Market when it is open. 

    If you are able to purchase items on your own, please do so then come back to register for a workshop without receiving items.  

    If we don't have car seat assistance avaliable for you at this time, you may also come visit us at the market when it is open. You will need to make an appointment to come to the market and can do so by clicking here
