Overview
The Tiverton Recreation Commission has established a scholarship program to provide funding to Tiverton children to participate in our Summer Camp. Scholarships will be awarded according to need.
Criteria
Applicants must be Tiverton residents. Applicants must show a demonstrated need for financial assistance. Additionally, applicants must be eligible for the program they wish to participate in. For the Tiverton Summer Camp, this means that they must be between the ages of 6-12.
Completion Guidelines
Applications must be filled out completely. An incomplete application will not be considered for funding. It is strongly suggested that the applicant contact the Tiverton Recreation Commission Chair, Stu Gilfillen, at stugilfillen@gmail.com if they need any guidance in completion and submission of the application. However, it will still be the responsibility of the individual to complete his or her portion of the grant application and to demonstrate need.
The Tiverton Recreation Commission Scholarship Program offers equal opportunity and does not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, creed, or religious affiliation.
Review Process
Applications may be submitted at any time and will be reviewed by the Tiverton Recreation Commission Scholarship Committee. All decisions of the Committee are final. The individual completing the application will be notified of the decision of the Committee as soon as possible.
Approval Process
Upon approval, the applicant will be notified of the amount of the award anf given directions on how to register. It is expected that an applicant who receives any financial aid will attend all possible sessions of their desired program. Failure to do so will result in an inability to apply for future programming.
