  • Thank you for your interest in visiting Revelstoke!

    Revy is a great place and we're honoured that you'd like to work with us to spread the word.

    We will consider supporting requests from media visits which:

    • Promote Revelstoke as a travel destination in print, online, or broadcast media 
    • Represent more than one tourism/hospitality industry partner
    • Showcase a greater variety of stories, culture, diversity, and equity
    • Consider our strategic priorities of multi-day stays and/or promoting Revelstoke as a year-round destination 
    • Reflect a confirmed assignment by the journalist and editor (if applicable)
    • Provide at least three weeks' advanced notice
    • Show you understand how to Sustain The Stoke before you apply.
    • All content must align with our Media Sustainability Kit

    But most importantly...

    Highlight something beyond what Revelstoke is known for. There’s hundreds of stories released every day about our impressive outdoor recreation opportunities and breathtaking nature. We’re not looking for run-of-the-mill scenic hiking selfies or articles about how steep and deep the pow is. People know. 

    We’re waiting for a media pitch that proves you want to understand Revelstoke. You know that what really matters is connection with our community, respecting nature, and genuine adventure and authenticity. Who brewed your beer, who built this bike trail, what does it feel like to fire up your sled at one of Canada's oldest and largest snowmobile clubs? Who installed the art enlivening our streets, which restaurants prioritize locally grown food, how long has this community inspired the world in outdoor recreation and industry? You’re ready to showcase a niche, quintessential Revelstoke story to a value-aligned audience and we want to hear from you. 

    We are not generic. We are not bigger is better. We want #TheRealStoke.

    Our level of support is dependent on various factors including story idea, reach, demographic and/or geographical market, and fit. We are a non-profit organization and have to be diligent about who we support!

     

    Blackout periods

    Due to high demand periods throughout the year, we’re not able to accommodate visits at certain times of the year. We welcome submissions all year but specific black out dates are listed below. Please feel free to submit outside of these time frames to keep your application on file.

    Current blackout periods are:

    • MEDIA RESIDENCY EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST. 
    • We want you to immerse yourself in all things Revelstoke. We believe that the community is one of the things that makes Revelstoke special, and you can't experience that on a packed weekend visit. That's why we created the Revelstoke Media Residency Program.


      Stay for a week (or more) and visit our local restaurants, cafes, and bars. Choose your favourite activities, meet locals, and create your own schedule. We hope that by staying in Revelstoke for a longer period of time than a usual media visit, you will be able to meaningfully engage with Revelstoke and be a knowledgeable and valuable advocate for Revelstoke as a destination.

    • If photography/videography is part of your pitch, please explain what you'd like to include. Examples of agreements Tourism Revelstoke has accepted:

      • Social and marketing materials.
        • 6-10 high-resolution images with non-third-party rights, 1-3 reels, 9:16 format, Collaborator opportunities with @revelstoke
        • Stories, reels and feed posts on your page paired with a blog
        • 3-5 Tik Toks with access to raw footage to be embedded on our website
      • Marketing materials.
        • 6 - 10 high-resolution images with non-third-party rights
      • Short-form video content.
        • 3 short-form videos in 9:16 format were submitted to us to post on our own channels
      • Written content + marketing materials.
        • Your blog is published on our website with images you've taken. We get to choose 3 images with non-third-party rights with the option to purchase more from you.
