Mass Text Messaging Policy ā Turning Point KC
Turning Point KC uses SMS/text messaging to communicate with participants enrolled in our in-person and Zoom-based classes. These messages may include:
Class reminders
Zoom links and access details
Notifications of class openings
Class cancellations or changes
Intake forms and administrative follow-ups
Text messaging is not used for donation solicitations, participant Q&A, or ongoing correspondence.
How We Use Your Information
Your phone number, name, email address, and class information may be stored on the Textedly platform and are used solely to communicate about Turning Point KC classes and services. We do not sell or share your information with third parties. All other data is securely stored on The University of Kansas Health System network.
Opt-In and Consent
By registering for a class or completing our opt-in form, you consent to receive SMS messages from Turning Point KC. Consent is not a condition of program participation.
Opt-Out
You may opt out of receiving text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message, emailing us at turningpoint@kumc.edu, or calling 913-574-0900. After opting out, you may continue to receive class information by email or phone if applicable.

Limitations: Text messages are for informational purposes only and should not be used in medical emergencies or to contact Turning Point KC staff directly.
Security: We take reasonable steps to protect your data. Your name, phone number, email address, and class information may be stored securely on the Textedly platform, and additional data is securely stored on The University of Kansas Health System network.
No Warranties: We do not guarantee message delivery or timeliness, especially due to third-party carrier issues.

This data may be stored on the Textedly platform and used only to communicate about class logistics, openings, reminders, cancellations, and other program-related information.This may include messages about new or upcoming free classes offered by Turning Point KC. Your data will not be sold, shared with third parties, or used for fundraising purposes.
All other data, including PHI, is stored securely on The University of Kansas Health System network and is not accessible to unauthorized parties.
Textedly is required to comply with all applicable data protection and telecommunications laws.
