Final Oral Defense: Intent to 2026

Deadlines for Spring 2026 Final Oral Defense:

The last day to hold a final oral defense is April 13, 2026.

Students must pass the Proposal Defense before they hold a Final Oral Defense.

The final submission date for the DNP Project or PhD Dissertation to the Graduate College/ProQuest is April 27, 2026.

To be a Spring 2026 graduate, students must submit to ProQuest by end of business day on April 27, 2026.

Action required:

1. Communicate with your committee and schedule the final oral defense if you have not already done so.

2. Send Melinda Burns (gmfletch@email.arizona.edu) your final project proposal for pre-review for formatting requirements no less than one month prior to your final defense date.

3. All GradPath forms, including the "Announcement of Final Oral Defense," must be submitted and approved prior to your defense date. You cannot graduate without an approved "Announcement of Final Oral Defense."

4. Contact Dr. Alice Pasvogel (apasv@email.arizona.edu) regarding concluding your project with the IRB.

5. Review the DNP Project Resources page for additional information.
