Instructions
For students admitted to the DNP program, it’s crucial to note that all requests for transfer credits or units must be submitted within the first semester of your admission. Unfortunately, we are unable to evaluate requests submitted after the first semester.
DNP students have the opportunity to transfer up to 9 units from a regionally accredited university. Please ensure that the courses are at the graduate level and have been successfully completed with a grade of “A” or “B.”
The transfer process involves two steps. The first step is to obtain approval from the College of Nursing (CON). If the CON approves your request, the Graduate College will then evaluate the course using the “Transfer Credit Form” in GradPath. Please note that both the CON and the Graduate College must approve the request for it to be officially recognized.
To facilitate this process, please adhere to the following guidelines:
1. Submit the “Course Transfer Request” for each course you wish to transfer.
2. Provide a copy of your previous (unofficial) university transcript.
3. Include a copy of the syllabus for each course.
4. If the course is more than 5 years old, please submit a CV or resume. Courses older than 15 years will not be considered for transfer credit.
Please note:
1. A course cannot be evaluated without a syllabus. If you do not have a copy, we recommend contacting your previous university to obtain one.
2. Courses from the U of A CON MEPN program will not be considered for course transfer or substitution.
Once we receive your completed form, we will send a final decision to your UA email address. Please understand that approval is not guaranteed.
All decisions are final.
