    Program registration
  • Spend four weeks making camera-less photographs along the Humber River. We will begin each session at 34 John St, York, ON M9N 1J3, where we’ll meet as a group before walking approximately five minutes together to the Humber River. In this workshop series, participants will create phytograms and experiment with anthotypes and cyanotypes using local plant matter, sunlight, and simple non-toxic processes. It’s a low-barrier way to connect art-making, environment, and community while learning approachable analogue techniques outdoors. Expect walking, gathering materials, and making work together by the water. Please wear comfortable clothes and practical footwear, since we’ll be working outside along the river. The program will conclude with a group showcase, where participants will share and celebrate the work created throughout the series. This program is funded by WorkmanArts.

  • About the Facilitator: Carrie Perreault (she/her) is a Weston-based multidisciplinary artist whose work moves across sculpture, installation, printmaking, experimental film, and collaborative publishing. Rooted in materials and place, her practice often uses reclaimed matter, hand-built ceramic forms, and cameraless phytogram films made with local flora. She creates work that connects studio process to public space, with a focus on collaboration, care, and the shared possibilities of everyday materials.
