A Priori Ethical Values Statement
A Priori Ethical Values Statement
In a virtual organization environment, we are exposed to every single race, nationality, ethnic group, special interest group, political group, social and economic status, religion, culture, custom and tradition. It is, therefore, impossible to adopt any set of uniform rules that can accommodate and please any one constituency without offending another. There is, however, one thing that we all share in common - that is our humanity, something which transcends every single layer of attributes that we possess. Being human, we instinctively know the difference between good and bad, right and wrong, regardless of what we're taught to believe and practice from the day we're born - "a priori ethical values" which we all share in common. Therefore, you are asked to leave your social status and all your customs, traditions, and idiosyncrasies at the door before you enter VOMI. Instead we appeal to your inner sense of good and bad, right and wrong with respect to how we expect you to engage with others you will come into contact with at VOMI ... which translates to a maxim we are all too familiar with but rarely observe, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."
