    THE VILLAIN KIDS

    Mal
Maleficent’s daughter and the central character of the story. Tough, sarcastic, clever, and determined, Mal initially embraces her villainous upbringing but gradually discovers that she has a strong moral compass and genuine compassion. This is a major singing and acting role requiring confidence, emotional range, and strong stage presence.
    Vocal Range: G3–D5

    Evie
Daughter of the Evil Queen. Stylish, image-conscious, and initially obsessed with finding the perfect prince, Evie is much more intelligent and capable than she gives herself credit for. Over the course of the story, she learns to value her intelligence and independence. Strong singer and charismatic actor.
    Vocal Range: G3–D5

    Jay
Jafar’s son. Athletic, confident, competitive, and accustomed to stealing whatever he wants. Beneath his swagger is a smart young man who discovers that teamwork and friendship can be more rewarding than looking out only for himself. A strong physical performer is especially useful for this role.
    Vocal Range: Eb3–G4

    Carlos
Cruella de Vil’s son. Nervous, funny, and afraid of many things, especially dogs. Carlos develops considerable courage after arriving in Auradon and becomes one of the most lovable members of the group. Excellent role for a strong comedic actor who can also handle the musical material.
    Vocal Range: Eb3–G4

    THE VILLAINS

    Maleficent
Mal’s mother and the most powerful personality among the villains. Dramatic, selfish, intimidating, and obsessed with revenge against Auradon. She expects Mal to complete the mission she can no longer accomplish herself. Requires a commanding performer with strong vocals and big theatrical energy.
    Vocal Range: A3–D5

    Evil Queen Grimhilde
Evie’s mother and Snow White’s longtime enemy. Vain, theatrical, and completely preoccupied with beauty and status. A strong character/comedy role with plenty of opportunity for an actor to create an exaggerated Disney villain.

    Jafar
Jay’s father. Once a powerful villain, Jafar has become a somewhat washed-up criminal on the Isle of the Lost. Slippery, ambitious, and desperate to regain power. Strong character role with considerable comic potential.
    Vocal Range: B2–E4

    Cruella de Vil
Carlos’s wildly eccentric and overbearing mother. Obsessive, unpredictable, and larger than life. A terrific character role for a performer willing to embrace physical comedy and outrageous villain energy.
    Vocal Range: B3–B4

    AURADON ROYAL FAMILY

    Ben
The teenage son of Belle and the Beast and future King of Auradon. Optimistic, compassionate, intelligent, and idealistic. Ben believes that the children of villains deserve the opportunity to choose their own futures. A major romantic and leading role requiring a sincere actor and strong singer.
    Vocal Range: Ab2–Bb4

    King Beast
Ben’s father and King of Auradon. Traditional, authoritative, and concerned with protecting his kingdom. Although initially resistant to Ben’s ideas, his own history gives him an understanding of what it means to be judged by others.

    Queen Belle
Ben’s mother and Queen of Auradon. Warm, intelligent, and loving, but understandably cautious about allowing the children of Auradon’s greatest villains into the kingdom.

    AURADON PREP

    Fairy Godmother
Headmistress of Auradon Prep. Cheerful, energetic, and determined to keep the school running smoothly. She represents the established order of Auradon but also cares deeply about her students. Strong character/comedy role.
    Vocal Range: D4–D5

    Jane
Fairy Godmother’s daughter. Shy and insecure, Jane desperately wants to fit in and be noticed. Her insecurities make her especially vulnerable to the promise of magic and transformation. Requires an actor capable of both comedy and vulnerability.
    Vocal Range: E4–D5

    Audrey
Daughter of Sleeping Beauty. Popular, privileged, confident, and accustomed to being at the top of Auradon Prep’s social hierarchy. She considers herself Ben’s natural romantic match and immediately views Mal as a threat.
    Vocal Range: A3–B4

    Chad
Son of Cinderella and Prince Charming. Handsome, privileged, arrogant, and not nearly as clever as he thinks he is. A strong comedic role for an actor comfortable playing an exaggerated entitled prince.
    Vocal Range: B2–D4

    Doug
Dopey’s son. Sweet, intelligent, awkward, and hardworking. Doug recognizes Evie’s intelligence before she fully recognizes it herself and becomes an important friend and romantic interest for her.
    Vocal Range: C4–E4

    FEATURED CHARACTER ROLES

    Maurice
Belle’s father and a teacher at Auradon Prep. Brilliant but eccentric, Maurice brings his familiar inventor/scientist personality into the classroom. A fun featured character role.

    Coach
Coach of Auradon’s Tourney team. Initially resigned to having an unimpressive team until new talent suddenly arrives. Good role for a strong comedic character actor.

    Snow White
Appears as Auradon’s enthusiastic red-carpet reporter. A recognizable Disney character used in a fresh and comedic way.

    Royal Page
A highly nervous Auradon messenger. Small but memorable featured role with strong comic possibilities.

    Royal Guard
A museum employee/guard whose attention to security leaves something to be desired. Another excellent featured comedy role.

    ENSEMBLE

    Isle Ensemble
Residents and young people of the Isle of the Lost who establish the rough, rebellious world in which Mal, Evie, Jay, and Carlos have grown up.

    Auradonians / Auradon Prep Students
Students and citizens representing the polished, privileged world of Auradon. These performers are important throughout the musical and should be treated as active characters rather than background.

    Smitten Kids 1 & 2
Featured ensemble roles that can give additional performers individual character moments.

    Auradonians 1 & 2
Featured speaking opportunities within the Auradon ensemble.

    Coronation Crowd / Crowd Members 1, 2 & 3
Featured ensemble performers appearing during the coronation sequence.
