    Stakeholders’ Survey

The deadline to apply for a WAVE bursary to attend the Lisbon Addictions (LxAddictions24) has closed on 31/1/2024 (11:59 CET), but we are still grateful for responses to the WAVE stakeholder survey, below.

    INTRODUCTION

WAVE (Workforce Addiction · Valorisation in Europe: www.wave-addictionsworkforce.eu) is a European-funded project aimed at supporting addictions care in Europe by strengthening the capacity of the workforce to respond to current and emerging challenges in prevention, treatment, social integration and harm reduction.

We intend to facilitate international knowledge exchange and collaboration around training and occupational standards for a strategic workforce development in addictions.

This survey gathers information from professionals working in addictions with different profiles and career stages on the current situation of the addictions workforce in your country.

We estimate that the survey should take 30 minutes. It is divided into the following sections:

    A. YOUR PROFESSIONAL PROFILE
    B. GOVERNANCE OF ADDICTIONS
    C. THE ADDICTIONS WORKFORCE – availability of professionals
    D. STANDARDS/GUIDELINES FOR CARE PROVISION
    E. OCCUPATIONAL STANDARDS/GUIDELINES
    F. QUALITY STANDARDS FOR TRAINING OF ADDICTIONS WORKFORCE

  • D. STANDARDS/GUIDELINES FOR CARE PROVISION

  • Clarifier: Care provision standards outline the best practices, protocols, and principles of care to ensure the quality of the care a person can expect in addictions services in terms of:

 appropriateness, efficacy and safety of the care received (evidence-based)

 quality of the equipment, environment and workforce

 accessibility, timeliness, efficiency (integrated care)

        person-centeredness (level of patient/user involvement in decision-making)

  •
  • E. OCCUPATIONAL STANDARDS/GUIDELINES

  • Clarifier: An occupational standard is a description of an occupation. In its simplest form, it describes the occupation’s profile, and the main knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviours required, the performance criteria, and the equipment, tools and materials necessary for someone to be competent in the role. It should also address aspects related to that occupation’s recruitment and retention, well-being and resilience, and opportunities for career development.

  • F. QUALITY STANDARDS FOR TRAINING OF ADDICTIONS WORKFORCE

  • Clarifier: Training standards provide guidance and criteria on the knowledge, skills and professional attributes that study programmes should cover to prepare students to practise a profession and work effectively. They also define the requirements for educational organisations providing such trainings.
