Learn to Ride Beg Summer 2026

WELCA has 4 different Learn to Ride programs running this summer:

1. Complete Learn to Ride
Price: $1200/rider for twelve lessons over eleven weeks
The full LTR program (Intro and Beg) - A seemless integration into the Horsemanship program in the fall!

2. Introductory Learn to Ride
Price: $625/rider for six lessons over six weeks
Can't do the Complete LTR? We have split in two for an easy first step!

3. Beginner Learn to Ride - (requires Introductory LTR)
Price:$625/rider for six lessons over six weeks
Gain further independence in the second step in our Learn to Ride program.

4. Accelerated Learn to Ride - 2 classes a week
Price:$625/rider for six lessons over three weeks
Away for a portion of the summer? Ride twice a week and be done in half the time!

Which program are you registering for?*

Learn to Ride Information

Age: 8 and older (while we don't limit ages for our classes, we generally find the younger riders are in the 4 and 5pm classes, with adults gravitating to the 6 and 7pm classes)
Class Length: 2 hours - the first half hour is dedicated to learning how to tack up a horse, followed by an hour ride in our indoor arena, and then half an hour afterward to untack and groom.
Total Price: $625, including rental of helmets and boots for lessons

Buddy up and SAVE on the Learn to Ride program!
Register more than one rider in the Beginner Learn to Ride program and save $60 per rider! Cannot be cobined with other offers. Adjusted price will be reflected on your invoice.

Program Requirements - Participants must be able to have two-way communication with the staff and be physically able to mount their horse from a mounting block. Leaders are not provided for our Learn to Ride program.*

Cancellation Policy/Non-Refundable Deposit - Cancellation of a WELCA Program can be obtained by emailing info@welca.ca account at least 14 days before the program start date, with refunds of the full amount minus the non-refundable deposit ($50) being refunded to the original card of purchase. Cancellations within the 14 days before the start of the program are not guaranteed refunds, may be dependent on our ability to fill the cancelled spot, and may result in a credit or admission for a future program (this credit/admission may not equal the total value of the original price).*

Make-Up Ride Policy - Due to the nature of the Learn to Ride program, make-up rides are limited. Make-up lessons are offered on a first come, first serve basis, and not guaranteed. If you would like to be considered for one (1) make-up ride, please list the date you will be absent from the program on this registration form. Absences notified after your registration is completed will not be eligible for a make-up ride.*
