Watauga Arts Council is helping our local artists by providing a chance for artists to earn revenue that otherwise would have been lost due to the storm. This will also be a fundraiser for the Arts Community impacted by Hurricane Helene. In addition to the commissions paid by the artists, a donation jar will be available to the public.

- Sale Time: Open to Public 10 am - 3 pm
- Breakdown: 3 pm - 4 pm
- What to sell: The sale is primarily for seconds — artwork you might not sell in a formal gallery or store.
- Prep: Bring your work priced to sell
- We Provide: We provide chairs, tables, and the tablecloths
- You bring: risers/fixtures and your work priced to sell
- Parking: You can park in WAC's parking lot for drop-off and set-up and then move your car to the doctor's parking lot across the street for sale hours.
- Promotion: We will have signs on the road, email our 4000+ subscribers, and promote on social media with a 49.4k reach. We will send registered artists promo images to share with their followers to help promote the sale. We will attempt to contact buyers from past sales.
Artists have a choice about how to participate.
~~ You can man your assigned table, make your own sales, and give a 15% commission on sales to WAC at the end of the day.
~~ Or you can drop off your work at WAC the week before the sale. WAC will display your work in a common area, will conduct all sales, and will retain a 20% commission on sales. Your work should be clearly marked with the price, your 3 initials, and must be accompanied by an inventory list.Your earnings by December 8th, if not sooner.
This event is a fundraiser not only for you, the artist, but also for WAC's Arts Relief Fund established to aid artists affected by Hurricane Helene and the Watauga Arts Council, but the fund will continue after Helene support is complete, so they are able to respond to needs on an ongoing basis moving forward. Half of your commissions will go to the Arts Relief Fund and half to WAC to support it's mission.
Since our space is so limited, WAC will send a confirmation letting you know if you made it into the November 23rd Second Chance Sale. First dibs will be given to artists regularly exhibiting at the Best Second Sale. If we get enough interest we may open this up to a second day for a second group of artists.
