By signing this document, the artist agrees to the following:
1. A complete listing of the works being exhibited, including title, medium, and market value, will be provided by the artist for reference and for insurance purposes. A copy of this listing will be provided to the WAC.
2. Works of art will be offered for purchase, and the prices selected by the artist within the perameters that Watauga Arts Council sets.
3. WAC reserves the right to reject any artwork if they feel that the content does not fit the goals of a given exhibit, is damaged, or if it is not ready to hang/showcase.
4. Artists and WAC will sign off that the inventory was received in good condition.
5. The WAC will facilitate hanging the work unless otherwise arranged.
6. Price of the artwork will be displayed next to each piece, and each piece will be identified both on the price tag and the back of each with a vendor number (assigned on drop-off day). Artist will be assigned a number, and all artwork must be accompanied with this assigned number on price tags or artwork so that the sales associates know who to credit for the sale of the artwork.
7. At the end of the exhibit, the Artist will pick up their artwork promptly. Any artwork not picked up within 30 days of an exhibit will be considered a donation to WAC, and a donation receipt will be given to the artist. If other arrangements for pick-up need to be made, the final agreement must be in writing and agreed upon by both parties.
8. WAC will issue Artist Payments within 30 days of the exhibition's close.
9. Should a work of art sell due to our exhibit within a month after a show, we ask that a donation be made to the Arts Council.
10. The Watauga County Arts Council will take all possible precautions to ensure the safety of the works exhibited in this program, which includes limited insurance coverage for fire and theft as well as damages incurred during transport. Still, it cannot be responsible for other occurrences. The Arts Council insures the work, but in the event, there is damage or theft, there is a $1,000 deductible for each occurrence. It is suggested that artists procure separate insurance to help cover the deductible cost.
11. Should there be damage, loss, or theft of a piece of art, the artist should be prepared to present proof of the market value of the work established through documentation of sales of comparable pieces, previous gallery contracts establishing value, or the professional opinion of an appraiser. If in the judgment of the WCAC, the stated value of a work submitted to the program is questionable, documentation of value may be required in advance.
12. Artists will provide WAC with a W9 form if they earn more than $600 in a year through sales with WAC.
