Nailing Gang Plates. Fall from ladder presents the risk. Control measures include stabilise the ladder. Never work from the top rung.

Fixing Posi Trusses. Potential fall from ladder and wall frames presents the risk. Control measures include stabilise the ladder. Never work from the top rung. Brace walls before nailing on the trusses. When required to nail trusses from a wall frame location, ensure you are standing on a wall junction to improve balance. When bringing trusses up from the ground, ensure there is a minimum of two workers helping to balance the load. Where practicable, roof trusses need to be placed by crane on the wall top plates at the time of delivery. Ensure employees do not walk on external top plates.

Fixing flooring to posi trusses for two storey homes. The risk is a possibility of falling through the posi trusses. The control measures involve. Flooring to be craned up onto the posi trusses. Lay down temporary floor sheeting to create temporary work walkways/platforms to eliminate the risk as much as possible.

Nailing on roof trusses. Falling from ladder or wall frames. Stabilise ladder. Never work from the top rung. Brace walls before nailing on trusses. When required to nail trusses from a wall frame location, ensure you are standing on a wall junction to improve balance. When bringing trusses up from the ground. Stabiliseladder. Never work from the top rung. Brace walls before nailing on trusses.When required to nail trusses from a wall frame location, ensure you are standing on a wall junction to improve balance. When bringing trusses up from the ground, ensure there is a minimum of two workers helping to balance the load. Stair void. Possible fall through void presents the risk. Put a guard rail around stair void as soon as possible. Cover the void with temporary sheet flooring where practical.

Eaves and external cladding. Possible fall from work platform. Stabilise two ladders or trestles. Run plank through two even rungs, ensure the plank is not above 2 metres. Clamp the plank to ensure it is fixed to the ladders. If above 2m, use a mobiel scaffold or erect a rail guard.

Nailing plaster battens. Possible fall from ladder is the potential hazard. Control measures include stabilising the ladder and never work from the top rung.

Slips, trips and falls from heights during bricklaying. Make sure scaffolding works are erected for high areas. Make sure to reduce the hazards associated with slips, trips and falls on difficult sites. Make sure the ground is stable where placing ladders. If you have any concerns about the safety hazards with the site, please inform Murray Wearne immediately.
