2022-2023 Livestock Award Program Application Form
Thank you for your interest in applying for the 2022-2023 WeCAN Livestock Program Award! We look forward to reviewing your application. Here are some things you need to know.

The Webb County Agriculture Nonprofit (WeCAN) was founded on the principles of assisting and providing opportunities for all youth involved in agriculture in our communities. Involvement in livestock projects allows children to develop their potential for leadership, personal growth and career success.

WeCAN is excited to offer our livestock award program to all students involved in FFA & 4H in Webb County. This program is an AST, CEA, or 4H Club Manager recommended student program along with an essay from the prospective recipient. WeCAN will be awarding a market steer, goat, sheep, swine, or rabbit project to one deserving individual in each species for the 2024 Major Show/County Fair season. We hope and pray that this would allow driven individals the opportunity to raise and exhibit a quality livestock project.

WeCAN looks forward to finding commited youth to raise these projects in the coming year. We know that there are exhibitors in our communities who are in need and we are here to fill that need.

Application Requirements

The following must be met in order for an application to be accepted for the WeCAN Livestock Award:
- Must be an active 4H or FFA Member
- Must reside in Webb County
- Monthly Reports will be rwuired detailing progress of Project Livestock
- Project Must be exhibited at any Major Show or Webb County Fair
Submission Requirements

The following must be submitted with your application in order to be considered for the WeCAN Livestock Program.
- Completed General Information Section
- recommendation letter from Agricultural Science Teacher, County Extension Agent, or Club Manager (Uploaded or emailed to: wecantx@gmail.com)
- A 300 Word Essay (Uploaded) Prompt: Why Should WeCAN award you with a livestock project? If you were to win, what are your plans with your project?
