    Thank you for helping us make a meaningful impact in our community! You can sign up as an individual or as part of a team—just be sure to note the location, address, and duties for your personal calendar.
  • Volunteer opportunities will take place on Wednesday, May 14, from 1–4 PM, unless otherwise noted in the descriptions below.

      Can't make it to volunteer in person? No problem! You can still make an impact from the comfort of your home - alongside your family. Sign up for one of our take-home opportunities, and the organization will provide you with detailed instructions and all the necessary materials. Once you're done, simply drop off the completed items at the Chamber Office (272 E 8th St, Holland, MI 49423), and we'll handle the rest!

      Located in Grand Rapids & Muskegon, St. Gianna's No Cost Baby Boutiques offers a wide selection of free items and free safety classes to enhance infant and toddler care, along with other resources. Boutique items include diapers, wipes, formula, clothing, and bottles, as well as larger items when available. For this opportunity, you would pickup a bag of donated baby clothes at the Chamber offices and then take them home or to a laundry mat to wash, dry, fold, and size the baby clothes. Then you can return them to the Chamber's office and we will return them to the boutiques.
    • Auction Items Needed:

      Auction Items Needed:

      Share your talents by making something for Grant Me Hope's Celebrating Hope Auction. It can be knitted, crocheted, painted, built (birdhouses, charcuterie or cutting boards, etc.), real or silk floral arrangements, canned goods, honey, jewelry, etc. All proceeds for the auction goes towards finding foster children an adoptive home. Note: These supplies will not be provided by GMH, rather you will donate them as part of your creation project.

      Holland Public Schools is committed to helping students during the long Summer Break. They are requesting help in assembling mental health kits to be sent home with students in need of them.

      Through collaboration with local agencies and organizations, Michigan Fosters strives to strengthen families by supporting parents of children in foster care - which often means a home-cooked meal or snack during visitations at the Journey Home. No restrictions around flavors or dietary needs.

      Meals On Wheels Western Michigan provides nutritionally balanced meal services to seniors in our community. The homemade meals are delivered right to their homes - and they've asked us to spruce up their delivery bags. Add a kind message or colorful doodles to help deliver a smile!

      Short on time but still want to contribute? We've got you covered! Sign up for a donation slot below, then drop off your items at the Chamber Office (272 E 8th St, Holland, MI 49423). We'll take care of the rest and ensure your donation makes an impact!

      Community Action House uses reusable bags in a lot of their outreach to community members and at the Food Club & Opportunity Hub. Any kind of sturdy reusable bags are appreciated, as well as food pantry items with an expiration date at least 6 months out.

      Summer Vacation Children's Shelter Supplies Needed:

      Gateway's Women & Children's Shelter operates year-round and they need our help preparing for the children staying over summer vacation. DONATIONS NEEDED: Crocs Infant Size 5 through Kids 5's, Bubbles, Water Table, Sprinklers, Water Toys, Sand Box, Sand Toys, Sand, Yard Games, Soccer Goals, Rain Suits (Size 2T-6T), Ride On Toys/Push Toys for Toddlers, Picnic Blankets, Sunscreen, Snacks: Fish Crackers, Animal Crackers, Cheezits, Pretzels, Graham Crackers, Fruit Cups, Puddings, Applesauce, Granola Bars, Ritz Crackers.
    • Essential Food Items Needed:

      Essential Food Items Needed:

      DONATIONS NEEDED: Peanut Butter 16-18 ounces, Pudding Cups, Individually Sized & Packaged Meat Sticks, Canned Spaghetti, Breakfast Bars, Microwave Popcorn, Canned Chicken, Individual Applesauce, Individual Fruit Cups, and Individual Boxes/Cups of Cereal. NOTE: Your contributions from any store are appreciated, with a request for expiration dates to be at least six months out.

      Harbor Humane Society is always in need of supplies to make sure they provide the best care possible to their animals. Please, take a moment and browse their Amazon Wish List to view a list of supplies they need most urgently.

      Hungry for Christ in Hamilton Michigan is a food distribution ministry founded in 2000. Thanks to the many connections they have with food manufacturers and suppliers, thousands of pounds of edible food items come through their doors daily. They invite you to join in supporting their efforts to make meaningful differences in the lives of hundreds of our food insecure neighbors who they serve. Please be mindful of expiration dates being at least 6 months out.

      The food pantry at Love Your Neighbor serves the families participating in the Life Skills Program. Every week families are invited to fill out a food order form to be picked up that week at program. LYN also partners with the Crisis Intervention Team and the Ottawa County Sherriff's Department to deliver essential emergency resources to the community during times of crisis.

      Through collaboration with local agencies and organizations, Michigan Fosters strives to strengthen families by supporting parents of children in foster care - many of whom still have children at the infant/toddler stage of life.       Nestlings Diaper Bank of West Michigan is a nonprofit organization that provides diapers to families in need in Ottawa County. Do you have extra diapers left over after potty training or size changes? Can you add diapers to your shopping list? Or pick up an extra pack when you do your regular diaper run or order? Nestlings accepts unused disposable diapers and pull-ups (open packages OK) and new, unopened wipes.

      The mission of Resilience is to respond to, reduce, and prevent domestic and sexual violence in Ottawa and Allegan counties. Providing trainings, community programs, housing support, and resources for survivors and allies is only a small part of what they do. They are hosting a drive to collect new socks and underwear for all ages and genders that will go towards those they help.
