The items listed below are designated as "Directory Information" and may be released for any purpose at the discretion of Wheaton College officials.
Under the provisions of The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA), as amended, you have the right to withhold the disclosure of some or all "Directory Information" listed below.
Students should very carefully consider the consequences of any decision made to withhold any category of directory information, as any future requests for such information from other schools, prospective employer, friends or other persons or organizations will be refused. Wheaton College will honor the request to withhold any category of directory information, but cannot assume responsibility to contact the student every time a request is received.. Regardless of the effect on the student, Wheaton College assumes no liability for honoring the instructions that such information be withheld.
"Directory Information" includes the following:
- Name
- Campus or local address
- Home address
- Email address
- Campus or local telephone number
- Home telephone number
- Photograph
- Date and place of birth
- Name contact information of parent(s), guardian(s), and/or spouse as provided by the student
- Class year
- Dates of attendance
- Current enrollment status (including current enrollment, full-time/part-time, withdrawn)
- Major field(s) of study
- Degrees, honors, and awards received (including Dean’s List)
- Graduation date
- Name and dates of most recent educational institution attended
- Past and present participation in officially recognized activities and sports
- Weight and height of members of athletic teams
