As a member of our community, we want to ensure that everyone understands the guidelines and standards that promote a positive, collaborative, and successful environment. The following policies outline the expectations for participation in The Whidbey Island Party Alliance, The Whidbey Island Party Professionals Directory and our overall operations.
1. Membership Criteria
To join The Whidbey Island Party Alliance, members must meet the following criteria:
- Be a business in the party and event industry (category list will be posted on website when it is fully operational)
- Be a business located and servicing anywhere on Whidbey Island
- Be willing to actively participate in advertising and promotion through The Party Alliance network.
- Each business is allowed only one membership. If you operate multiple professional party service businesses, a separate membership is required for each one.
- Be in agreement to group rules on Facebook page
- Understand this alliance is open to all professional local party service providers, including competitors.
2. Code of Conduct
All members must adhere to the following code of conduct:
- Respect: Treat all members and community group members with respect, kindness, and professionalism at all times when associating yourself with The Whidbey Island Party Alliance.
- Honesty: Provide truthful, clear, and accurate information about your business and services.
- Collaboration: Engage with others in a cooperative and supportive manner. Help promote and uplift the community.
3. Advertising and Promotions
As a member of The Party Alliance, you agree to the following advertising guidelines:
- You can advertise your services directly to your target audience through the Party Alliance's promotional social channels up to 3x per week.
- All advertisements must align with the community’s values, maintaining professionalism and appropriateness in all materials.
- If you wish to promote a sale, event, or special offer, it must be communicated with enough lead time for the group to support and share it.
- Members are encouraged to share each other’s promotions, fostering a sense of community and helping everyone grow.
4. Professional Party Categories (PPC)
- Members can be listed under various professional party categories related to the party and event industry the business aligns with. You may be added to additional categories based on your services.
- Profesional party category listings will be regularly updated to reflect any changes or additions to member services. and members will have the opportunity to update their listings accordingly.
- All business descriptions should be clear and concise, accurately representing your offerings.
5. Fees and Contributions
- The Whidbey Island Party Alliance charges an annual membership fee of $75.
- Fees and any associated charges will be clearly communicated, and payment must be made in a timely manner to maintain membership. Whidbey Island Party Alliance reserves the right to adjust membership fee yearly.
6. Event Participation
- Members are encouraged to participate in The Whidbey Island Party Alliance-sponsored events, such as The Party Fair, which will be held annually and start in 2025!
- Participation is voluntary but highly encouraged to build brand awareness and strengthen The Whidbey Island Party Alliance.
- Members should be prepared to offer special deals or displays at events when requested.
7. Dispute Resolution
- In the event of a disagreement or issue between members, we encourage open and respectful dialogue to resolve any conflicts.
- If a resolution cannot be reached, The Whidbey Island Party Alliance leadership will mediate the situation and make a fair decision based on the best interests of the community.
8. Confidentiality
- Members are expected to keep sensitive business information shared within the group confidential.
- This includes pricing structures, proprietary services, and business strategies.
- Sharing information outside of the group should be done with consent from the relevant parties.
9. Termination of Membership
- A member may be removed from The Whidbey Island Party Alliance for violating these policies or for failing to maintain a positive and respectful business relationship within the group.
- If a member wishes to leave The Whidbey Island Party Alliance, they must notify the leadership in writing, and their listing and association with Whidbey Island Party Alliance will be removed accordingly.
10. Amendments to Policies
- The Whidbey Island Party Alliance reserves the right to update or modify these policies as needed to reflect changes in the community or industry standards. Members will be notified of any significant updates or changes via email.
