Winder Binder - Books, Art, & Music is committed to supporting local authors in our community and our consignment program is one way to help those authors find their readers!

Our local author terms and conditions are as follows: 

• Books are on consignment only. We do not buy books outright.
  
  
• We will display your book in our Local Author section for a minimum of 6 months.
  
  
• We request that during the 6 month consignment period  your book is not available at a lower retail price anywhere else. (This includes Amazon)
  
  
• We will initially take 4 copies of your book and offer a 60/40 split for each copy sold (you get 60%, we get 40%). Based on the sales of the book, Winder Binder may choose to extended the consignment terms at the store’s discretion.
  
  
• Due to an extremely high demand and extremely limited shelf space we have instituted geographic restrictions in order to be as fair as possible. We are committed to representing local authors. Therefore, authors must CURRENTLY RESIDE within 30 miles of Downtown Chattanooga, Tennessee. We would additionally give consideration to titles that are about our local area.
  
  
• Please note that applications are subject to availability of space in the store and we reserve the right to accept or decline applications based on availability and demographic interest.
  
  
• We WILL NOT accept any books that are dropped off before approval of your application. 
  
  
• As stated previously, we DO NOT accept new consignment submissions in November and December, no exceptions.
  
  
• We will not accept books that need to be shipped to or from the store. Authors must be able to drop off and pick up books in person. 
  
  
• Authors have 30 days after the end of their consignment time to pick up any unsold books. Any books not claimed after the 30 days will be donated to a local charity.  
  
  
• If your title is accepted, it is in your best interest to let your fans/followers know your book is available for purchase at Winder Binder through your social media outlets. PLEASE NOTE - Winder Binder IS NOT solely responsible for promoting your book. It is the responsibility of the author to promote their own work. We will post on our social media outlets to let our followers know your book is available. 
  
  
• Winder Binder is not responsible for stolen or damaged books.
  
  
• We reserve the right to decide not to carry a book for any reason.
  
  
• Payments of sold items are issued quarterly, via Zelle. 

The payout schedule will be as follows: 
January 3rd (not the 1st due to being closed for New Years)
April 2nd
July 2nd
October 2nd
