  • Please review the guidelines below:

    1. Authors from the surrounding localities (Yorktown, Williamsburg, Newport News, Hampton, Poquoson, and Gloucester) are invited to set up a table in the lobby of the library to sign and sell their books in a casual low-key setting.
    2. Authors may promote their book for a two-hour time period.
    3. Authors may book up to two times per year.
    4. The library reserves the right to cancel any bookings. Cancelations will be rescheduled at the library's convenience.
    5. Authors are primarily responsible for promoting the event and should include their own contact information on any promotional materials not the library’s.
    6. The Library does not endorse the content of books or views of the author.
    7. Authors are solely responsible for transport, clean up, supervision of all materials, and book sales. Authors should bring their own cash for sales, library cannot provide change.
    8. The library will provide one table and one chair.
    9. The library will advertise the author event on its website and share it once on social media.
    10. Please no “hard sell” tactics. Do not assume library patrons are potential customers. Many library users want to read books, but do not want to buy books.
