Resort Guidelines and Safety Policy
1. Introduction
We want to ensure that your experience at the Forest Spa is both enjoyable and safe. The following guidelines have been established to help you make the most of your time here.
2. Supervision and Quiet Conduct
Children: Children must always be accompanied by an adult. They should maintain a quiet demeanor while using the spa facilities to respect other guests’ relaxation.
Tranquility: We kindly ask all guests to keep noise to a minimum to preserve the peaceful environment.
3. Trail and Deck Safety
Designated Trails: Please remain on marked trails. Moss can be slippery, and loose rocks may pose a tripping hazard.
Slippery Surfaces: The boardwalk and decks can become slippery when wet. Use extreme caution to avoid accidents.
4. Health Considerations
Pregnant Women and Small Children: Time in the hot tub or sauna should be limited to reduce potential health risks.
Alcohol & Medication: Excessive alcohol consumption, especially in high temperatures, can lead to unconsciousness. The use of drugs or certain medications can also pose serious risks. We strongly urge all guests to exercise moderation.
5. Prohibited Substances and Smoking Policy
Non-Smoking Resort: Smoking is not allowed anywhere on the property except in the front parking lot.
No Drugs or Excessive Alcohol: Possession or use of drugs is strictly prohibited on the property. Excessive alcohol use is also disallowed to maintain safety for everyone.
6. Showering Before Use of Spa Facilities
Mandatory Shower: Before entering the sauna or hot tub, guests must shower to remove sweat, dirt, and oils. This improves both hygiene and the overall spa experience.
Sauna Cleanliness: While in the sauna, sitting on towels is mandatory for sanitary reasons.
7. Sauna Use and Fireplace Instructions
Starting the Fire: Use the provided propane torch and kindling to ignite the fire. Ensure the small drawer under the door is open to allow airflow.
Stacking the Firebox: Fill the firebox completely for optimal heat output. A small amount of water on the rocks can be used to increase humidity.
Menthol Crystals: If you choose to use menthol crystals, apply them sparingly to avoid overwhelming scents.
8. Gas Fire Pit and Cold Dip Pools
Gas Fire Pit: Do not leave the gas fire pit on the deck unattended when using the sauna.
Cold Dip Pools: Rinse off in the outdoor shower before entering. The recommended immersion time is one minute per degree of the water’s temperature.
9. Cedar Hot Tub
Showering: Shower at your cottage or at the sauna before using the Cedar Hot Tub.
Optimal Temperature: The hot tub should reach 105°F for the best experience. If it is not hot enough, please contact us so we can start the fire.
10. Outdoor Gazebo and Kitchen
Reservation Required: The large gazebo and outdoor kitchen must be booked in advance.
Cleanup and Waste Disposal: After use, ensure the gazebo is cleaned. Take all garbage to the shed located at the top of the property in the parking lot. Recycling bins are also available in the same shed.
