The festival is intended for artist-run and self-organised initiatives whose programme is developed independently by their members rather than directed by public institutions, commercial galleries, or corporate organisations.Participation is based not only on organisational structure but also on alignment with the values of the Collective of Collectives. Applications are reviewed by members of the Collective of Collectives. While organisational structure is an important criterion, we also consider whether applicants demonstrate values that align with those of the Collective of Collectives.
