Which of these describes the way you have always been wired?

IF YOU HAVE EVOLVED SIGNIFICANTLY, ANSWER FOR WHO YOU WERE IN YOUR TWENTIES.
A. I face reality with positivity – I presume that everything will be okay, even if I have to ignore painful truths or red flags to accomplish this. I am generally cheerful and smiling, and not terribly serious. I don’t tolerate emotional distress well, and will reframe the story or indulge in escapist activities so that I can skip facing the hard parts. I assume the best about people and give my trust easily, but this can backfire – I have been burned by my rose-colored glasses. You could probably say that I avoid dealing with my darker or heavier emotions – and other people’s too. To summarize: I GENERALLY ONLY LIKE TO FEEL “GOOD” AND AVOID FEELING “BAD”.
B. I find reality somewhat stressful and often have big upwellings of emotion, generally towards only one of these: Shame, Fear, or Anger. It’s sort of my homebase emotion, ready to leap out in a flash. I am committed to authenticity - I don’t fake anything and I say it like it is. I am wary and don’t give my trust or respect easily. I am passionate and opinionated and I don’t like to be bossed around. I can be reactive – when I hear unsettling news I immediately spin a mental story about how things are about to go haywire. I hardly ever experience a sense of peacefulness. To summarize: I GENERALLY FEEL ALL THE FEELINGS BUT MOSTLY FOCUS ON THE “BAD” ONES.
C. I remain detached and logical as I face reality. I like to appear calm, cool, and collected, even if I do feel things below the surface. I am good in a crisis because I stay calm and trust my competence. It's possible I come across as aloof -- I don't often show my true feelings. Emotional displays seem unsafe and distasteful to me - I don't do drama. Even though this is how I consciously prefer to be, in truth it’s difficult for me to access deep emotion, even if I wanted to. Sometimes it’s less about cool-headedness, and more about numbness. To summarize: I GENERALLY DON’T FEEL STRONGLY “GOOD” OR “BAD”, WHICH I THINK IS “GOOD”.

Which of these reflects how you have always coped when life doesn't go your way?

IF YOU HAVE EVOLVED SIGNIFICANTLY, ANSWER FOR WHO YOU WERE IN YOUR TWENTIES.
1 You are the person who keeps things light. Assuming things will work out comes naturally to you, and you don't see the point in dwelling on what could go wrong. You smile easily, laugh easily, and genuinely want everyone around you to be happy. Life is better when it's pleasant — and you have a gift for making it so. Occasionally though, something blindsides you that you didn't see coming. Looking back, you can see you gave your trust too easily, or missed a red flag that in hindsight was obvious. To summarize: YOU GENERALLY ONLY LIKE TO FEEL "GOOD" AND AVOID FEELING "BAD."
2 You are wired for authenticity. You feel things intensely and you don't pretend otherwise — you say it like it is, and you don't fake anything. Trust and respect are earned with you, not freely given. Passionate and opinionated, you don't like to be bossed around. Reality feels somewhat stressful, and when unsettling news arrives your mind immediately begins spinning worst-case scenarios. One emotion in particular lives close to the surface — shame, fear, or anger — ready to leap out in a flash. Peacefulness is something you rarely experience. To summarize: YOU GENERALLY FEEL ALL THE FEELINGS BUT MOSTLY FOCUS ON THE "BAD" ONES.
3 You are the person others want around in a crisis. Calm, logical, and competent — you trust yourself to handle what comes, and that steadiness is real. Emotional displays feel unsafe and distasteful to you, and drama is something you have no patience for. You may come across as aloof, since your true feelings are rarely on display. And even when you would want to access deeper emotion, it isn't always there. Sometimes what looks like cool-headedness is closer to numbness. To summarize: YOU GENERALLY DON'T FEEL STRONGLY "GOOD" OR "BAD", WHICH YOU THINK IS "GOOD."
