  • Welcome to the 2026 NASW-MN Social Work Advocacy Week & Social Work Day at the MN Capitol registration page!  This year’s events include online information sessions about advocacy and key policy issues on Monday, March 2 and Tuesday, March 3, culminating in action at Social Work Day at the MN Capitol on Wednesday, March 4.

    Monday, 3/2/26: Online Advocacy Week Info Sessions (free CEUs!)

                  12:00 PM – 5:15 PM

    Tuesday, 3/3/26: Online Advocacy Week Info Sessions (free CEUs!)

                  9:00 AM – 4:15 PM

    Expect 1 hour sessions on topics including:

    • State and National Advocacy in 2026
    • The impact of federal action on Minnesota
    • Social work professional priorities including school social work funding, title protection and reimbursement for clinical trainees.
    • Advocating for Fosters
    • Policy proposals related to gun violence

    Wednesday, 3/4/26: Social Work Day at the MN Capitol In-Person  (free CEUs!)

                  8:30 AM – 3:30 PM

                  In-Person at the Minnesota State Capitol Complex and Christ on Capitol Hill Church (Christ Lutheran Church)

    Expect a full day of advocacy opportunities with plenty of support. Our homebase will be at Christ on Capitol Hill Church. NASW-MN staff and volunteers will be available between 8:30-3:30 at Christ on Capitol Hill Church in the Fellowship Hall. This is an open space with seating available. NASW-MN will have snacks. Take a break, eat, and discuss the results of our legislative visits.

    Our annual rally will take place at 11:00 AM in the Capitol Rotunda. Additionally, you can witness legislation in action by attending committee hearings throughout the day or get better acquainted with the building on a guided Capitol tour.

    Finally, we hope you will visit with your legislators—after all, your voice is the reason we are at the Capitol! 

    **We are happy to help you schedule an appointment with your Legislator during Social Work Day at the MN Capitol. These appointments will be available for others in your area to join. (Register by 2/22 - 11:59pm CST and we will do our best to schedule an appointment with your Legislator, no guarantees after this date)

     

    PLEASE NOTE: 

    All events are FREE for all students and social workers - registration is required to help us plan and ensure you receive all event links, CEUs, and other important information.

    Registrants will receive access to all Zoom Info Sessions on March 2nd & 3rd, important updates about Day at the MN Capitol, and lots of resources to help you prepare! A Virtual Resources Folder with all the information you need will be shared with you as we get closer to the event.
