  • Policies

Before submitting your application, please read the following statements thoroughly and agree to the terms.
  • Return Adoption Policy:

Furballs of Atlanta (FBOA) will assist with any issues for up to 90 days post-adoption. If surrender becomes absolutely necessary, you agree to return the pet to FBOA, its assigned foster home or an affiliated pet store— only after written approval from an FBOA Adoption Counselor or Member (not a volunteer). You must also return all original paperwork, ID tags, and any vet records acquired after adoption.

Please note: Adoption fees are non-refundable. A surrender fee applies if the return occurs after 90 days.

  • Virtual Home Checks:

To ensure the safety and compatibility of the homes we place our furballs in, we conduct a brief, virtual home check via Google Meet. By checking the box below, you expect + agree for your adoption counselor to perform one before a final decision is made on your application.

  • Post-Adoption Wellness Exam:

To ensure the best start for your new feline family member(s), we strongly encourage all adopters to schedule a wellness exam within 7–30 days post-adoption. This exam can be done with your primary veterinarian or through one of our trusted veterinary partners.

Early wellness exams are essential for:

    • Establishing a baseline for your cat’s health
    • Detecting any early concerns or needs
    • Helping your veterinarian become familiar with your new pet
    • Enabling us to provide accurate and timely health support or guidance based on veterinary findings

    Why it matters:
If you complete a wellness exam within this time frame, our team can offer follow-up advice, coordinate with your vet if needed and better assist you with any health-related questions or concerns. Outside of this window, our ability to provide health-related guidance may be limited.

Please remember to retain a copy of the exam record and share it with us if you’d like our support.
