El Sistema Lehigh Valley is a K-12 music-based tutoring and mentoring program. In this program, children develop a sense of belonging inside a safe, musical community that empowers them to learn in ensembles, engage in peer mentorship and instruction, and celebrate shared success with their parents, teachers, and community through frequent performances. The program is held every school day (Monday through Friday) from 3:15-5:30 PM at Roosevelt Elementary.
Although we can't always offer immediate enrollment in our program, we always welcome interested students to register to be enrolled in the future. We enroll new students in groups, according to age and musical experience, in September, in January, and for our Summer Program in July.
Once involved in the program, please understand that these rules must be followed:
1. Respect - Your child must be respectful of everyone involved in the program (instructors, other students, school staff) and must follow behavior expectations. Repeated poor behavior can be grounds for withdrawal from the program.
2. Attendance - Consistent attendance is a crucial part in getting the most benefits for your child from El Sistema. If your child does not maintain over a 80% attendance rate he/she will be withdrawn from the program.
3. Punctuality - You must be on time to pick up your child. If you are going to be late, you must contact the school and speak with the Community School Director or contact Kaylee Santanello at 973-534-9886.
We hope you realize our goal is to offer fun learning experiences for our students in a safe environment. These rules are designed with that purpose in mind. If you have any questions, please contact Nashira Williams in the Community School Office at Roosevelt Elementary School or Kaylee Santanello, El Sistema Program Manager, at 973-534-9886 or email@example.com.
