  • Paint Afternoon (In Person)

    Place: Irene Locke Room, St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatic Centre (425 Carlton St, St. Catharines)

    Join us for a fun and relaxing afternoon of painting where you'll create your own masterpiece! Instructor Laurie will guide us through an interactive painting session, and you will be able to take home your masterpiece at the end. No experience required - all materials are provided. Wear clothes you may get paint on.

  • Mindfulness and Meditation (In Person)

    Date: Tuesday, October 28, 2025
    Time: 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm
    Place: Welland Community Centre (145 Lincoln St, Welland, ON L3B 6E1)

    This 90-minute session, led by facilitator Heather Finlayson Fenton, offers caregivers of people living with Dementia a chance to rest, reconnect, and learn simple practices to support emotional resilience. We’ll explore how to begin and/or sustain a regular meditation practice, bring mindfulness into daily life, and meet each moment with greater compassion and acceptance.

    Through guided meditation and practical tools, you’ll learn how to calm the mind, ground the body, and care for yourself with kindness. These aren’t just ideas, but inner capacities we can cultivate to create ease and increase joy.

To help us understand better the population we serve, we are requesting additional demographic information. Gathering this information not only helps us tailor our programs to meet the unique needs of our community, but it also plays a crucial role in our ability to apply for and receive funding through Ontario Health and private grants, which require detailed demographic data to support our initiatives. As a healthcare custodian, we are responsible for collecting, managing, and protecting this information in compliance with all applicable privacy standards. Your participation in providing this data helps ensure that we can continue delivering effective, person-centered care to those impacted by dementia.
