    ARTIST REGISTRATION FORM
  • Art by the Bay 2025—an exhibition presented by the Annapolis Arts Alliance at Quiet Waters Park—celebrates the beauty and creativity inspired by the Chesapeake Bay region. This show will feature paintings, sculptures, photography, glass art, fiber art, and mixed media that capture the vibrant relationship between art and nature.

  • The exhibition is open to AAA members and Anne Arundel County High School and College students.

    IMPORTANT DATES

    • Application Opens: Monday, September 8, 2025
    • Deadline for Submissions: Sunday, October 5, 2025
    • Notification of Acceptance: Thursday, October 8, 2025
    • Artwork Drop-off: Tuesday, October 14, 2025 (9–11 AM)
    • Reception: Sunday, October 26, 2025 (1:30–3:30 PM)
    • Artwork Pickup: Monday, November 17, 2025 (10 AM–12 PM)

    Show Entry Limits

    Artwork is limited to 65 two-dimensional pieces and 50 three-dimensional pieces from AAA members, and a combined total of 25 pieces (2D + 3D) from student artists. Registration for the event may close once the maximum entries are reached.

    Juror

    The Juror of Awards for this event is Stacy Lund Levy. She is a signature member of American, Baltimore, National, Northwest, Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, and Transparent Watercolor Societies, and the American Women Artists Organization.

          We’re honored to showcase the creativity of our AAA members and the talented high school and college students of Anne Arundel County. Thank you for sharing your work with us by applying to this year’s show.

          You’ll receive a confirmation email listing each of your registered pieces so you have it for your records.

          After October 5, 2025, we’ll send a reminder email with all the details you’ll need for artwork drop-off on October 14, 2025. Please be sure each piece has the title, your name, email, and phone number clearly marked on the back.

          Commission and Sale of Artwork

          The Friends of Quiet Water Park will retain twenty-five percent (25%) of the selling price of theartwork displayed during the show.

          The artist will receive seventy-five percent (75%) of the sale ofsold artwork.

          The payment should occur within 30-45 days after the close of the show.

        • EXHIBITION STANDARDS FOR QUIET WATERS PARK WILLOW GALLERY

          1. Subject matter of all artwork exhibited in the gallery of Quiet Waters Park must be appropriate for the family nature of the park.

          2. All work must be original, signed by the artists and have been completed within the three years prior to the exhibit.

          3. All wall and suspended work MUST be equipped with wires for hanging. Failure to have wire for hanging may result in rejection of the artwork. SAW TOOTH HANGERS are not acceptable for this show.

          4. Two-dimensional work must: a. Be securely and suitably framed – NO clip frames b. Be dry c. Be under glass or Plexiglass (Plexiglass must be on work over 24” x 30”) except for artwork on canvas, panels of board. d. Work on canvas, panel, or board does not have to be under glass or Plexiglass, but should have a durable finish as appropriate.

          5. Sculptures and other three-dimensional work must: a. Rest in a stable and balanced position to prevent falling or tipping; b. May not exceed 35 pounds in weigh; c. May not have sharp edges, protruding arms or insecure or unsafe features.

          6. Art work on canvas should be gallery wrapped. Photography may be on metal.

          7. Bin Art includes two dimensional art, either originals or prints which should be enclosed in a clear sleeve. Matting is optional, however all work must be with a board in the enclosed clear sleeve.

          8. Artwork will remain in the gallery until the published pickup date. Artists will be notified of any sales the day before the pickup date. All artwork will be hung at the discretion of the Friends of Quiet Waters Installation team.

        • STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITY

          Quiet Waters Park will do everything possible to protect the work of the artists.

          The Visitors Center and the Galleries are equipped with both a security system and a fire suppression system.

          However, Anne Arundel County, Quiet Waters Park, the Annapolis Arts Alliance, individually or collectively, will not be responsible for loss or damage to artwork due to theft, accident, fire, or other causes.
