1. Releasees

In this Release Agreement, the “Releasees” means Advanced Orthomolecular Research (AOR) and the Calgary Olympic Development Association operating as WinSport, together with their respective directors, officers, employees, volunteers, contractors, event staff, sponsors, agents, representatives, affiliates, insurers, successors, and assigns.

2. How This Agreement Is Signed

This Release Agreement is agreed to by signing the Participant Signature Roster attached at the end of this document (the “Roster”). Each signature on the Roster constitutes full acceptance of this Release Agreement by the person signing, on their own behalf and, where indicated, on behalf of the minor child(ren) named in their row. Each adult participant must sign their own row. A parent or legal guardian may sign one row covering themselves and/or their own minor children, provided each child is named. By signing, the signer confirms they had the opportunity to read this Release Agreement in full and to ask questions or seek independent legal advice before signing.

3. Event and Activities Covered

This Release Agreement applies to participation in the 2026 Summer Skate with AOR held at WinSport in Calgary, Alberta (the “Event”), including recreational skating, entering and exiting the ice surface, use of rental or personal equipment, dressing rooms, spectator areas, common areas, walkways, and parking areas, and all other activities connected with the Event (collectively, the “Activities”).

4. Assumption of Risks

I understand and acknowledge that skating and the Activities involve inherent and other risks, dangers, and hazards, including but not limited to: falls; collisions with other participants, spectators, the boards, or objects; contact with skate blades; slippery, uneven, or damaged ice and floor surfaces; failure, misuse, or unavailability of equipment, including rental equipment; the negligence or misconduct of other participants; medical emergencies occurring on site; exposure to communicable or infectious illness; cold temperatures; and the negligence of the Releasees, including failure to safeguard or protect me from the risks, dangers, and hazards of the Activities. I freely accept and voluntarily and fully assume all such risks, dangers, and hazards and the possibility of personal injury, permanent disability, death, property damage, expense, or loss resulting from them.

5. Participant Responsibilities

I confirm and agree that I (and, if applicable, my child):

• am medically and physically fit to participate in the Activities;
• will follow all Event rules and all WinSport facility rules, policies, and posted signage, and will comply with directions from Event staff and WinSport personnel;
• will wear appropriate footwear and clothing, and will wear a properly fitted helmet where required by WinSport policy or recommended for the Participant’s age or skill level (helmets are strongly recommended for all skaters);
• will behave in a safe and responsible manner at all times;
• will not participate while under the influence of alcohol, cannabis, or any drug or medication that impairs judgment, balance, or coordination; and
• will actively supervise any minor children in my care at all times while at the Event.

6. Release of Liability and Waiver of Claims

In consideration of being permitted to participate in the Event and the Activities, and to the fullest extent permitted by the laws of Alberta, I hereby release, waive, and forever discharge the Releasees from any and all claims, demands, actions, causes of action, damages, costs, and expenses of any kind that I (or my child) may have or may in the future have against the Releasees arising out of or connected in any way with participation in the Event or the Activities, INCLUDING CLAIMS ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES, BREACH OF CONTRACT, OR BREACH OF ANY DUTY UNDER THE OCCUPIERS’ LIABILITY ACT (ALBERTA), except to the extent such a release is prohibited by law. I agree not to make or bring any claim or legal action against the Releasees, or against any other person or organization that might claim contribution or indemnity from the Releasees, in respect of any matter released under this Release Agreement.

7. Indemnity

I agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Releasees from and against any and all claims, demands, actions, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or connected with my (or my child’s) participation in the Event or the Activities, including (a) claims brought by third parties arising from my (or my child’s) acts or omissions, and (b) if I am signing as a parent or legal guardian, any claim brought by or on behalf of the minor Participant against the Releasees.

8. Emergency Medical Consent

I consent to the administration of first aid and, if deemed necessary by Event staff or medical personnel, emergency medical treatment and transportation for me (or my child) in the event of an injury or medical emergency. I understand and agree that I am responsible for any medical, ambulance, or related costs not covered by provincial health insurance or my own private insurance.

9. Photo & Video Consent

By attending this event, you are consenting to your photograph being taken at the event and it may be used for AOR marketing purposes.

10. General Terms

• The Releasees are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property.
• Event organizers may modify, postpone, or cancel the Event, in whole or in part, for safety, weather, or operational reasons.
• This Release Agreement is governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the laws of Canada applicable in Alberta, and I agree that the courts of Alberta have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from it.
• This Release Agreement is binding upon me and my heirs, executors, administrators, next of kin, personal representatives, and assigns.
• If any provision of this Release Agreement is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.
• This Release Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between me and the Releasees regarding its subject matter, and I confirm I have not relied on any oral or written statement made outside this document.
• A signature on the Roster, whether handwritten or electronic, has full legal force and effect.
