With my Membership Application I agree to abide by the terms & conditions of Au Pair Assist Members, which are as follows:
We will treat our Au Pairs as members of the family and not hired help.
Our Au Pairs will receive a family handbook for reference, outlining important routines, general house & family rules and emergency details.
We will ask our au pair for a copy of the passport and contact details used in case of emergencies.
Our Au Pair will know in advance which tasks are expected and will receive a schedule for her work times. If work times and tasks need to change, we, the family, will provide the schedule well in advance or as soon as possible. We will make every effort that our Au Pair can plan her free time.
The notice period for reduced pay due to changes in the family circumstances, eg. au pair is needed less hours, is according to the notice period in the agreement for termination but will not be less than 2 weeks.
Reduced hours in child care shall be met with other child related or light household tasks, or other tasks which our Au Pair will need to agree upon.
We will refer our Au Pairs to Au Pair Assist for a confidential discussion of matters they cannot discuss with us, the host family, as a first point of contact. The Au Pair, if not a member herself, needs to disclose the name of the family to prove membership status.
We will direct and encourage all our Au Pairs from overseas to contact Au Pair Assist for their travel bookings. With bookings through Au Pair Assist we ensure that our Au Pairs are well prepared and have the right insurance, especially liability insurance to re-imburse us for any accidental damage. We understand that it is our duty to provide adequate information about what it means to be an Au Pair (information can be downloaded from our Forum)to enable Au Pair Assist to provide best guidance while hosting. This is best be done with a referral of the Au Pair to Au Pair Assist.
Families will be added to the Au Pair Assist Host Family Forum if they wish to have access to a wealth of information for download. Posts and comments will follow common curtesy and netiquette.
