    Mentor Requirements

    • Age: 21+ (Before 06/02/2026)
    • Must be baptized.
    • Must be an active member of your local church & have approval from your local pastor to serve.

    Additional Administrative Requirements (if selected to serve)

    • Background Check / Fingerprint Clearance Card (Not Expired)
    • 2026 Sexual Abuse Prevention Training Certificate (You will have an opportunity to complete this later if you have not done so yet)
    • Complete an Interview with the Junior Camp Head Mentors or Director.

    NOTE:

    Submission of this Interest form does not guarantee a spot at camp. In the event that attendance is not approved, we will notify the local Junior Director first, followed by the applicant.

    If selected to serve, there will be a Mentor fee of $110 for those attending Junior Camp.

  • I understand that approval of my attendance at Junior Camp requires the submission of a separate pastoral consent form signed by my local pastor.

  • MENTOR RESPONSIBILITIES

    As a Mentor, you will serve as both a spiritual leader and a responsible guardian for the campers entrusted to you. Therefore, the following will be required of me:

    GENERAL

    • I understand that it is important to be a good example at all times and therefore, carry a good testimony in and outside of the church. This may include but is not limited to
      • Complying with leadership, and all forms of authority
      • Dressing with modesty and in accordance with Apostolic Doctrine
      • Demonstrate the ability and attitude to serve.
    • Diligently supervise assigned Campers during all camp activities.
    • Ensure that assigned campers treat all participants (staff, mentors, and other campers) with respect at all times.
    • Ensure that assigned campers maintain healthy and hygienic routines.
    • Ensure that assigned campers wear appropriate attire at all times.
    • Ensure that assigned campers are eating balanced meals and getting enough nutrients to sustain them throughout the week.
    • Ensure that assigned campers participate and attend all camp activities on time.
    • Ensure that all curfew and lights-out hours are followed and that assigned campers get enough rest.
    • Assist with loss prevention and monitor camp property for damage.
      • Any camper caught destroying or vandalizing camp property will be removed from the campground. The camper's parent/guardian and pastors will also be notified. Parents/Guardians will be responsible for and expected to pay for any damages.
    • Immediately report any incidents that occur on the campground, including filling out Incident Reports in detail.
      • Note: Incidents not reported during camp or within an acceptable time frame cannot be addressed.
    • Be familiar with and know how to use a walkie-talkie, as it will be essential for communication during transitions and other duties. Clear communication is vital to keeping everyone informed, safe, and accountable.
    • Be familiar with the signs of mental health issues, depression, or other concerns

    SPIRITUAL

    • Before Camp:  Devote time for personal consecration (Prayer and Fasting) and intercession before attending Junior Camp - At least once a week.
    • Before Camp:  Encourage local Juniors to understand the impact of Worship, Sermons, and Altar calls.
    • At Camp:  Build a mentor-disciple relationship with assigned campers to guide their spiritual growth.
    • At Camp:  Participate in altar calls and pray with the campers.
