Policies and Agreement
Acceptance: Pets are accepted for grooming services under the following circumstances: The pet is fit and healthy. Please discuss ALL KNOWN MEDICAL ISSUES with your groomer so it can be noted in your pet's profile. Please note that we are only accepting clients who are willing to adhere to a 2, 4, or 6 week recurring schedule. Owners are expected to be home for the pet's first grooming appointment. For all following appointments, if the owner is not home, the owner must provide the groomer with instructions, code, and/or key in order to access the pet. Appointments are pre-scheduled every 6 months in order for the mobile route to run efficiently.
Medication/Sedation: Any pet administered a prescription sedation medication to alleviate anxiety prior to its grooming appointment must be reported to the groomer as some medications do run the risk of side effects, such as seizures. Should your pet experience such, your groomer will immediately stop the service. As such, THE BARKING BARBER GROOMING COMPANY cannot be held liable for any side effects incurred from a medication you administered prior to the grooming process.
Pre-existing Conditions: The grooming process may expose pre-existing health or skin conditions that are not visible to the eye. As such, THE BARKING BARBER GROOMING COMPANY cannot be held liable in such instances.
Emergencies: In the event of an emergency, in your absence, THE BARKING BARBER GROOMING COMPANY will contact one of the nearest veterinarians (depending on grooming van location) and authorize the veterinarian to treat the pet as necessary at your expense.
Safety: Your pet's safety and comfort is our top priority. We reserve the right to terminate grooming services if your dog is exhibiting excessive levels of stress.
Medical: The owner is responsible for advising the groomer of any medical conditions, allergies, sensitivities, or pre-existing conditions. This may include prior surgeries, warts/moles, skin issues, and/or ear infections.
Aggressive Dogs: Owners must inform the groomer if their dog(s) bites, has bitten,or is aggressive to people, other dogs or specific grooming procedures. Muzzles may be used if necessary. Muzzling will not harm your dog and protects both the dog and the groomer. We reserve the right to refuse/terminate service for such dogs at any time before or during the grooming process, and charge an aggressive dog fee in addition to the regular grooming charge.
Appointments: We will arrive as close as possible to the scheduled appointment time. However, there are several circumstances that may disrupt the schedule including weather, traffic, mechanical difficulties, etc. You will be contacted and advised of the arrival time should therebe a change.
Matting: A matted coat can cause numerous health conditions including itching, irritation, and skin infections. Removing a heavily matted coat increases the risk of cuts or abrasions due to warts, moles, or skin folds trapped within the matts. If your per cannot be humanely de-matted,we will always ask your permission to clip/shave the hair short.
Vaccines: The pet's rabies vaccine must be up to date (as required by law) for all pets 6 months and older. We will also honor rabies titers or a medical waiver that has been issued by a licensed vet.
No Shows & Cancellations: Per Policy, we require 24 hours notice to reschedule or cancel your appointment. Failure to call and cancel and/or reschedule your appointment may result in a $50 cancellation fee. We understand there may be emergency situations and we will work with you,but not on a continued basis. Please be respectful of our time as we are a by-appointment business, and another client could have taken your appointment if we had known.
Payment: Payment is to be made at the time of service. Our rates are based on the breed, size, age, coat condition, and duration of the groom/service. Tips are greatly appreciated and can be added to the payment.
Van: Owners are welcome to view the van before or after their pet's grooming appointment. However, owners are not permitted in the van during the time of service.
Social Media: Photos and/or videos may be taken of your pet before, during, or after their grooming session for use on The Barking Barber Grooming Company's Facebook, Instagram, website, or other social media/advertisement platforms.
