Prayer Leader Requirements for Heal Mississippi DayTo help ensure a peaceful, unified, and impactful prayer gathering, we ask all prayer leaders to abide by the following guidelines:
1. Be prayerfully prepared. Please come spiritually and mentally prepared to lead in prayer over your assigned area with clarity, focus, and sensitivity to the moment.
2. Stay aligned with the purpose of Heal Mississippi Day. This gathering is a call to prayer for healing, unity, restoration, and hope across Mississippi. All prayers should reflect that spirit and remain centered on the assigned prayer focus.
3. Respect the time limit. We ask that each participant pray for 3 minutes and no more than 5 minutes. Please be mindful of time and do not go over, so that everyone has the opportunity to participate as planned.
4. Do not take away minutes from your prayer partner. If you are sharing a prayer focus or praying in partnership with someone else, please honor their time. Each prayer leader should have their allotted opportunity to pray.
5. Keep your prayer concise and focused. Avoid preaching, extended exhortation, or excessive commentary. This is a prayer gathering, so please use your time to pray with purpose and intention.
6. Maintain a spirit of unity and order. We ask all prayer leaders to flow in love, humility, and cooperation. Please follow the directions of the event coordinator and remain mindful of the overall order of service.
7. Pray in a way that edifies and uplifts. Let your prayer bring encouragement, healing, peace, and faith. We want this gathering to reflect the heart of God for Mississippi.
8. Be respectful of the setting and audience. Whether you are praying at the Mississippi State Capitol or The House of Ora in Canton, please carry yourself with honor, wisdom, and reverence.
9. Arrive 30 minutes early and be ready when called. Please arrive at least 30 minutes early so you can get settled, receive any final instructions, and be in place when it is time for your assigned prayer.
10. Help spread the word before the gathering. Prior to the prayer gathering, please share information by email, text, or social media to help us bring awareness and invite others to participate. You may direct people to our website at www.turningpointfmi.com/city-calling and ask them to follow us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/citycalling4you.
11. Support the gathering beyond your own prayer time. Even after you have prayed, remain engaged in the atmosphere of prayer and agreement as we stand together for healing across the state.
Closing InstructionOur goal is to have a gathering that is powerful, orderly, unified, and led with excellence. Thank you for helping us create an atmosphere where healing, peace, and restoration can flow throughout Mississippi.
