a. I/we confirm that under the provisions of the Data Protection Act 2018 I/we have no objections to my/our details being held by the Club. I/we also agree to my/our name and contact details being included in the BSC Membership Directory, which is distributed to Club Members only and is accessible via the password-protected Members' Area of the BSC website.
b. I/we agree to abide by the rules and bye-laws and standard operating procedures of BSC as may be amended from time to time (to include all supplementary rules or instructions in respect of BSC organised events). Copies of the rules and bye-laws are available on the BSC website or from the Club office.
c. My/our subscriptions and Club account will be paid by Direct Debit. Please complete the DD mandate and return with your application.

Please return the completed form and direct debit mandate to the Club Secretary/General Manager. Applications are considered once a month by the Management Committee and you should submit your application by the first of the month, for it to be considered in that month.
PROVISIONAL MEMBERS
Provisional Membership may be offered to those seeking to join the Club but who are not immediately able to satisfy the requirements of Rule 2.3 in terms of support from a proposer and seconder. Such candidates, including their spouse or Partner and/or children if applicable, may be elected to Provisional Membership on the recommendation of a Flag Officer and the General Manager, at their discretion. New provisional members will be notified to the Management Committee at the first meeting following their election.
During their period of Provisional Membership, such Provisional Members will be expected to participate in the Club activities and to find the appropriate proposer and seconder to enable them to apply for Membership at which time the normal Rules for election will apply.
Provisional Members will be required to pay the appropriate annual subscription but will not be liable to pay an entrance fee unless and until they are elected as Members. Provisional Members shall not participate in the amenities and advantages of the Club until their payment of the appropriate subscription fee has been received. Provisional Membership will lapse after twelve months unless a complete application for Membership has been received by the General Manager within that period. During this period, a further annual subscription may fall due, but no additional subscription for that year will be required upon election as a Member.
Provisional Members are not entitled to attend and vote at General Meetings, may not be elected to any committee, shall not be classified as Members for the purpose of Rule 1.49, and may not introduce Guests.
No individual can be elected as a Provisional Member more than once.
DATA PROTECTION
The Club will process and protect data in accordance with the terms of the Data Protection Act 2018, and any data held by the Club will be held for the benefit of the member and the effective management of the Club. The Club does not pass, sell or trade personal data for profit or gain. The Club's Privacy Policy is available at the Club's premises and on the Club's website. All enquiries, issues or concerns in connection with Data Protection matters should be raised in the first instance with the Club Secretary/General Manager.
