USC South Carolina Internship Program "SCIP" Application

The University of South Carolina is able to offer financial supplements to students who obtain internships and co-ops that support high-demand industries within the state of South Carolina. Supplements of $3,000 are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis or as long as funds are available. Application submission does not guarantee award. Application for Fall 2026 closes October 16, 2026.

Eligibility:

Internship/co-op must be in person and located in South Carolina and completed in Fall 2026.

Open to current degree-seeking students in the University of South Carolina system.
Preference is given to:
Undergraduate students
Award recipients who will not require sponsorship for US work authorization post-graduation
Student should work at their internships at least 100 hours during the semester or about 10 hours per week
Internship/co-op opportunities that support Manufacturing, Aerospace, Automotive, Energy, Health and Life Sciences, Insurance and Financial Services industries.
High Priority Occupations in the following categories will be considered: Construction & Civil Engineering, Business Management & Human Resources, Health Science & Nursing, Human Services & Social Work, Information Technology, Law & Public Safety, Sales, Transportation & Logistics.
