Completed application form and a copy of student transcripts.
Optional: One letter of support from a teacher; one letter of support from an advisor, coach, clergy member, administrator, or community member in support of applicant’s general worthiness of scholarship aid.
Application Deadline: Friday, March 20, 2026, at 3:00 p.m.
When reviewing your application, we want to get to know you as well as we can. There is a limit to what grades and test scores can tell us so we ask you to answer a series of short answer essays. Use this opportunity to introduce yourself to the Awards Committee. Be open and honest. What you tell us in your essays allows us to better understand the information you have provided in your application.
The Kunsman Award for Excellence in Leadership and Mathematics was established by a grateful student in honor of Elvin H. Kunsman, founder of the Blue Mountain School District. It is a $2,500.00 award that is given to the student with the highest average in Math based on grade point average and SAT scores. Applicants must also demonstrate the leadership qualities exemplified by Mr. Kunsman.

Applications are due at 3 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2026 - no exceptions!
Applications will be reviewed in early April, and applicants will be notified shortly after. If selected for this award, the Eagle Foundation Academic Awards Banquet will be held on the evening of Wednesday, April 29, 2026. More details to follow.
