The Take Power, Make Power Residency Application

You are welcome to submit a video or audio application by recording yourself answering the questions just as you would on the form, then emailing a link to bipocacro@gmail.com. Please only submit ONE application - via video OR audio OR this jotform. If you are in an acrobatic partnership or group, each person must submit their own application.

Please, do not worry about sounding formal, editing yourself, or expending more energy on this application than you have to offer right now - we are here for your authentic thoughts, feelings, and fantasies, in whatever ways you wanna express them to us! We want to offer you the space to share as much or as little as you’d like. This form is encrypted, and no information will be shared outside of the BACCES adjudication process without your explicit consent.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: January 13th, 2025 at 12AM EST
We will inform you that we have received and are reviewing your application on or before January 20th, 2025. We will inform you if you have been selected as a resident on or before February 10th, 2025. We want to connect with you, and build relationships with all who are interested in this work; even if you are not selected as a resident, we will be in touch to offer other opportunities and discuss ways we could collaborate.

All Take Power, Make Power residents must:

Identify as BIPOC
Have a current, consistent partner or group acrobatics practice
Have a desire to connect and create with other BIPOC acrobats, artists, and social change makers
Have a desire/curiosity to learn experimental and cross-disciplinary artistic practices, and create performance that shares their lived experience, and/or promotes a meaningful message, in alignment with the program’s mission and offerings
Be able to commit to six hours per month of online residency workshops April - September, 2025
Be able to commit to being in an intensive training and creation process, and perform in three public shows in San Francisco October 17 - 26th, 2025
