Do you meet the academy prerequisites?* This field is required.1.) Must be a Black woman, 18 years old or older 2.) Must be an aspiring community midwife (Traditional Midwife, Certified Professional Midwife, Certified-Nurse Midwife, or Certified Midwife) or an aspiring birth assistant with out-of-hospital birth experience or clinical experience in Labor and Delivery 3.) Must have a valid government-issued photo identification (Driver's License, Passport / Card or Permanent Resident Card) 4.) Must have a high school diploma, GED, or higher 5.) Must meet the physical requirements: Students are required to have a full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Light work is required - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects, when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or when it requires sitting most of the time.
