  • We have a variety of great volunteer opportunities. Unsure what fits you best? Take a look at the options and select which application you'd like to submit, below: 

    • May 31 Deadlines:
      • BRR Board of Directors: Applicants must have been a part of the Association for at least two years prior to the election, must be active, and must have served on at least one committee/advisory board/task force with BRR, IMLS or NAR. Here’s more info on that opportunity. 
      • State or National Director: Applicant requirements are similar to the BRR Board. Here’s more info on those requirements. 
      • Committee Chairs/Vice Chairs: Committee applicants received by May 31, who indicate interest in being chair/vice chair, will be presented to the President for consideration. There are no guaranteed appointments or automatic successions to these positions.  
    • August 31 Deadlines:
      • BRR Committee Members: We have a variety of committees you can join that help with different events, community efforts, and political action. You can see our list of committees here. 
      • REALTORS® Community Foundation: RCF is a 501(c)(3), focused on supporting local projects and/or programs that are working to transform the lives of those in our community. You can apply to be on that Board if you’re an active BRR member.

  • Thank you for your interest in volunteer leadership through BRR Committees! Please keep the following in mind as you complete this application:

    • All information must be submitted at once, as the form does not allow you to save and return later.
    • You can apply for up to three (3) committees with this application, though BRR does follow the National Association's example of "ONE MEMBER, ONE APPOINTMENT" to avoid volunteer burnout.
    • There are no automatic appointments; all members (including current committee members) must apply/reapply to serve on a BRR Committee.

  • If you would like to apply for an Officer or Director position, please review the eligibility requirements and responsibilities at boirealtors.com/faqs-for-board-service/, then complete the following section. Please note that no more than THREE REALTORS® from the same office may serve on the Board of Directors. 

    Not all positions will be available each year, but you are welcome to apply and communicate your interest.

  • BRR Vice President Core Responsibilities: 

    • Serve on BRR's Board of Directors (monthly meetings)
    • Serve on the Executive Committee (monthly meetings)
    • Serve on the Budget and Finance Committee (monthly meetings)
    • Serve on the Bylaws and Governance Committee (quarterly meetings)
    • Serve as a State Director (two meetings per year)
    • Assume the responsibilities of the President in their absence (and in the absence of the President-Elect) and will assist the President in carrying out the functions of the office.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the President.

    Meetings and Event Attendance:

    • Attend all meetings and come prepared to conduct association business.
    • Attend special events, functions, and other association business, as necessary, and encourage other members to attend, as well.
    • BRR committee meetings, as necessary.
    • Two (2) NAR meetings each year

      • National Annual Convention(November)
    • Two (2) IR Board of Directors meetings each year
      • IR Board of Directors (April)

    A few details to consider: BRR will be allocated a certain number of seats from the entity based on current membership totals. Completing this application does not guarantee appointment as Directors. State and National appointments require travel which may only be reimbursed by the association based on funds available. State and National appointments to Director positions require fiduciary care and diligence to those organizations specifically.

  • What position would you like to apply for?
  • The State Director from BRR to Idaho REALTORS® (IR) will advise, govern, oversee policy, and assist with the leadership and general promotion of the state association, in support of IR’s mission. More information about their programs is available at idahorealtors.com. State Directors from BRR are also ex-officio, non-voting directors of the BRR Board or Directors, and while not required, are welcome to attend any BRR Board meeting.

    Term: January 1 to December 31 (initial one-year term, renewable up to three years)

    Meetings and Event Attendance:

    • Two (2) IR Board of Directors meetings each year (April and October) – Proxy required if you are unable to attend, signed by BRR President sumitted to CEO.
    • IR Committee meetings, as necessary.
    • Special events, functions, and other association business, as necessary.
    • Attend meetings of the BRR Board of Directors (optional).
  • The National Director from BRR to the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) will have duties and responsibilities for governing the association, and the association counts on directors to participate as we deliberate issues that impact members’ daily business lives. More information about being a national director and NAR’s various programs is available at nar.realtor/national-leadership/board-of-directors/role-of-the-director and nar.realtor. National Directors from BRR are also ex-officio, non-voting directors of the BRR Board of Directors, and while not required, are welcome to attend any BRR Board meeting.

     

    Eligibility Criteria: As noted the Nominating and Elections Committee’s policies, “all candidates for the National Director position(s) allocated to BRR, whether elected or appointed, shall meet the qualifications put forth by NAR, which may change from time-to-time. The most current version of these qualifications are as follows:

    • Be a REALTOR® member in good standing, actively engaged in the business of real estate.
    • Have served in some capacity within NAR governance, a state or local association, or NAR Institute, Society, or Council.
    • Provide a statement describing their involvement in real estate, why they are seeking a position on the NAR Board of Directors, and what they believe they can contribute in their role.
    • Commitment to supporting the mission, priorities, and core values of NAR.
    • Acknowledge that the applicant will fulfill all duties and responsibilities of the role and abide by NAR policies.
    • Complete the At Home with Diversity class, Bias Override: Overcoming Barriers to Fair Housing class, and Fairhaven prior to their appointment as an NAR Director.
