1. Definitions and Interpretation
1.1 In this agreement the following words and phrases shall have the following meanings (and, where applicable, the singular shall include the plural)
"Business day"
Means any day other than a Saturday, Sunday.
"Client"
The natural or legal entity that has concluded a contract with the supplier, or to whom the supplier has issued an offer for this purpose
"Company"
PM Bosch PTY LTD t/a Bosch Services or its successors in title
"Fee"
The fee set out in any quotation.
"Site"
Any such area where a client requests services are undertaken by the supplier
"Supplier"
PM Bosch PTY LTD t/a Bosch Services "terms" means these Terms and Conditions together with any additional information contained within a quotation.
"Service"
Any such activity a client requests are untaken by the supplier "quotation" a priced offer of services between the supplier and client.
2. Scope of Work
Bosch Services will carry out high-pressure cleaning of the roof as per the accepted quotation. Work includes removal of dirt, moss, algae, and debris using appropriate cleaning methods.
3. Roof Condition & Risk
The client acknowledges that high-pressure cleaning may expose pre-existing damage, including cracked, loose, or deteriorated tiles, waterproofing, or underlayment.
Bosch Services will not be held liable for leaks or damage resulting from pre-existing roof conditions.
Any visible damage identified before or during cleaning will be communicated to the client.
4. Water Intrusion Disclaimer
While all reasonable care is taken, water may enter the roof space during cleaning.
Bosch Services is not responsible for any internal water damage, especially where roofing, flashings, or seals are compromised.
5. Tile & Surface Integrity
Older, brittle, or weathered tiles may crack or shift during cleaning.
The client accepts this risk and agrees that Bosch Services is not liable for such occurrences.
6. Access & Safety
The client must ensure safe and clear access to the property and roof area.
Any obstacles, electrical hazards, or unsafe structures must be disclosed prior to work commencing.
7. Surrounding Areas
Reasonable care will be taken to protect walls, gutters, plants, and surrounding surfaces.
However, Bosch Services is not liable for damage to items not removed or properly secured by the client.
8. Weather Conditions
Work is subject to suitable weather conditions. Bosch Services reserves the right to reschedule due to rain, wind, or unsafe conditions.
9. Waste & Clean-Up
Debris removed from the roof will be cleared from accessible areas.
Disposal of large volumes of waste may be quoted separately unless otherwise stated.
10. Pricing & Payment Terms
Pricing is based on visible conditions at the time of quoting.
Any additional work required will be quoted separately.
11. Cancellations
Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
Late cancellations may be subject to a call-out fee.
12. Indemnity
The client indemnifies Bosch Services against any claims arising from pre-existing structural defects or undisclosed hazards.
13. Acceptance
Acceptance of the quotation confirms agreement to these Terms & Conditions.
ROOF TYPE–SPECIFIC TERMS & CONDITIONS
1. Concrete / Cement Tile Roofs
High-pressure cleaning may dislodge loose or aged tiles.
Existing cracks, brittle tiles, or weak mortar may worsen during cleaning.
Bosch Services is not liable for leaks caused by underlying waterproofing failure or aged underlay.
Re-pointing or sealing is not included unless specified.
2. Clay Tile Roofs
Clay tiles are more fragile than concrete tiles and may crack under pressure.
Colour fading or surface wear may become more visible after cleaning.
Bosch Services is not responsible for breakages due to age or pre-existing weakness.
3. IBR / Corrugated Metal Roofs
Lower pressure methods are used to avoid damage.
Existing rust, corrosion, or weak sheets may be exposed or worsened.
Bosch Services is not liable for leaks due to rusted screws, worn seals, or degraded sheeting.
No responsibility for paint peeling or coating failure after cleaning.
4. Chromadek / Colorbond Roofs
Soft wash or controlled pressure cleaning methods will be used.
Faded or oxidised paint may become more noticeable after cleaning.
Bosch Services is not liable for coating deterioration or uneven appearance post-cleaning.
5. Asbestos Roofs (IMPORTANT)
Bosch Services does NOT clean asbestos roofs using high pressure.
Only compliant soft-wash methods may be used, if at all.
All work will follow South African safety regulations.
In some cases, work may be declined entirely due to health risks.
6. Thatch Roofs
High-pressure cleaning is not suitable for thatch roofs.
Only specialised thatch cleaning methods apply.
Bosch Services is not liable for loosening or displacement of thatch material during any cleaning process.
7. Polycarbonate / Plastic Roofing
Very low pressure cleaning only.
Bosch Services is not liable for cracks, brittleness, or UV-damaged sheets that fail during cleaning.
8. General Waterproofing & Underlay Disclaimer
Roof cleaning does not include waterproofing.
Any leaks after cleaning are usually due to pre-existing issues.
Waterproofing, sealing, or repairs must be quoted separately.
9. Gutter & Downpipe Disclaimer
Gutters will be rinsed, but full unblocking is not included unless specified.
Bosch Services is not responsible for pre-existing blockages or damaged gutters/downpipes.
10. Client Responsibility
The client must inform Bosch Services of:
Previous leaks
Roof repairs
Known weak areas
Failure to disclose may void any liability claims.
