    From the Bottles4College team and I, we are proud to announce that the Bottles4College Scholarship is scheduled to be awarded this spring! I want to take this time to explain what this scholarship will entail and what we hope you will do to help our community and prosper a great journey of higher education. 


    Bottles4College plans to grow our scholarships bigger over time to be able to further our impact we make to raise the bar of Hawaii education. 

    Those eligible are those who are graduating highschool this year (class of 2026) and a Hawaii kid who has call the islands home. See below for eligibility and criteria details.


    If you are ineligible for this scholarship this year, please don’t feel discouraged! And if you believe you should be considered, please reach out and inquire. Each person that is taking the steps now to care for their education, we commend you. Bottles4College will be changing and growing our scholarship as time goes on and our impact can grow. Please continue with us through this journey to make change to Hawaii by volunteering at our events, being an advocate for the community in Hawaii, and to never give up on your educational dreams! 


    The youth are the voice of the future, we hope you join us in making a change to Hawaii and live the Bottles4College lifestyle.   • The Process

    January 4th, 2026 Applications OPEN

    Submission must be received by  2/28/2026 11:59pm HST.
    Submissions are recommended to be made electronically using this form.
    Applicant will receive a secondary confirmation email from Bottles4College within 72 hrs of the receipt of your Application. If you do not receive this email, please contact us at bottles4college@gmail.com. It is each Applicant's sole responsibility to confirm receipt of Application and to retain a copy of this submission for their own records.

    If the Applicant needs assistance and can only make mail-in submissions, please contact bottles4college@gmail.com to receive instructions for mail-in submission.

    Mail submission must be received by 2/28/2026 so please send it in with time allowed for delivery. Any mail received after 2/28/2026, regardless of postmarked date will not be considered. Please keep in mind that any and all materials mailed to Bottles4College, i.e. any documents and  will not be returned to the Applicant. Applicant will receive a confirmation email once the Application is received. If you do not get the confirmation by 3/10/2026, please contact us at bottles4college@gmail.com. It is the Applicant’s sole responsibility to keep copies of all documents submitted for their own records and if needed for resubmission. 

    Finalists will be contacted with further instructions. 
    Awarding will occur during a live event on Oahu. Finalists MUST attend this awarding event to be eligible for Scholarship awarding on Sat. April 18th, 2026. Details will follow. 

     

    *Special exemptions/arrangements may be made depending on applicant's circumstance(s), especially for neighbor island applicants.


    Transfer of Payment: Payment arrangements will be made directly with the receiving educational institution. It is the recipient's sole responsiblity to help coordinate and validate any details pertaining to funding. This is especially important as privacy acts may otherwise prevent Bottles4College from being able to obtain proper information for funding.

    Bottles4College Scholarship may be applied toward tuition, school fees, and class supplies required by the course only. Tuition and student fees will be prioritized and supplies will require special permission. The funding may not be used for any other purpose. The funding will not in anyway be redirected to the recipient personally and all transactions for the scholarship funding will be made with the recipient's approved educational institution. Bottles4College Scholarship will be applied toward the remaining tuition after all of the recipient's other grants, scholarships, financial aid, and any other, are funded. 


    Bottles4College holds the unilateral right to revoke the scholarship awarding to any selected recipient at any time. Based of severity of misconduct, the awardee may have to pay Bottles4College back the scholarship funding they had been awarded up to that point. At this time, an appeal is not offered to any revoked scholarships in order to continue awarding eligible students in good standing. 

    If there is any scholarship funding left over after the recipient has achieved a Bachelor's degree, the remaining funds will be put directly back into the funding for future scholarships for other students. 


    Tips for getting ready for submission:

    -Video Essay submission is a requirement for this scholarship. Please read through the Video Submission Guideline. Get prepared for submission by having access to a Youtube account.

    Let us get to know you and your aspirations.
  • Bottles4College requests submission of a video essay to get to know our Applicants as much as possible. As an innovative scholarship program that aims to address multitudes of current social issues and bring actionable solutions, we wanted to ensure that our application process also reflected that concept. So, rather than having a traditional essay format that may not completely showcase each unique Applicant as a person, Bottles4College chose a video essay format, where Applicants can truly shine and express themselves. 

    Instructions:

    1. Please answer each prompt listed below entirely in your video essay. We recommend that the entire video is pre-scripted and thoughtfully crafted as a cohesive presentation.

    2. Video Essay may be up to 12 minutes maximum. 

    3. Please make sure that all visual and auditory components are fully functional and clear. We should be able to see your whole face clearly and all audio should be clearly audible. Video edits such as subtitles and other texts are up to the Applicant.

    4. This submission calls for a video essay and it is not necessary for video production creativity, though not prohibited. Only the introduction has criteria as listed below.

    5. Include "Introduction" as listed below. This part shall show your entire face clearly, chest up, facing forward. This part will count towards the 12 minute maximum.

  • By signing below, Applicant and Parent(s)/Legal Guardian(s) acknowledge that all information provided is accurate and true. Gross inaccuracy, intentional omissions, and or fabrication of any sort will deem the Application unacceptable and Applicant may be held responsible for fraud and perjury. Applicant will receive a notice of receipt of Application with 72 hrs of your submission from Bottles4College, separate from the automated submission notice immediately given after the submission. If you do not receive one, please email bottles4college@gmail.com to ensure your Application was received. Please retain your own copy for your records. If a technical error is to arise, Applicant may be requested to resubmit entire Application.

    1. Applicant applying for this scholarship must have full parental/guardian consent and approval to apply. 

    2. Consent to contact Applicant’s school and any other affiliations, and employer of applicable individuals for income verification indicated in the application for verification process. 

    3. Consent for Applicant and parent/guardians to be contacted by Bottles4College for additional questions and verifications. Applicant must be reachable via email and or phone from Bottles4College duration of the application and awarding processes, whenever necessary. Failure to be able to maintain timely communication may automatically disqualify Applicant at the sole discretion and decision of Bottles4College. 

    4. Consent for public and promotional use of video essay submitted and awardee if selected and waiver of liability for public media use. No compensation now or future shall arise from usage of materials submitted, including but not limited to Applicant and any others' voice, images, creative expressions, and so on. 

    5. Awarded Scholarship funds must be applied toward Applicant's 4 year college tuition. Payment of the scholarship fund will be made directly to the receiving educational institution from Bottles4College. The funding will not in anyway be redirected to the recipient personally and all transactions for the scholarship funding will be made with the recipient's appropriate educational institution. The Bottles4College Scholarship will only be implemented after all of the recipient's other grants, scholarships, financial aid, etc. is put forth. If unforeseen situations shall arise where the Applicant is unable to accept the awarded funds or if there is any scholarship funding left over after the recipient has achieved a Bachelor's degree, the scholarship shall be passed onto the next deserving student at the organization's sole discretion and decision. 

    6. Bottles4College holds the unilateral right to revoke the scholarship awarding to any selected recipient at any time. Based of severity of misconduct, the awardee may have to pay Bottles4College back the scholarship funding they had been awarded up to that point. At this time, an appeal is not offered to any revoked scholarships in order to continue awarding eligible students in good standing. 

    7. Applicant shall follow up with Bottles4College summer of 2027 and provide an updated video interview regarding their first year in college. Waiver of liability and media release consent also applies for materials related to this submission.  

    8. Scholarship agreement to be further detailed in Scholarship Agreement when final awardee is selected.

    9. Confidentiality notice: All financial documentations shall not be shared with any unauthorized third party and shall only be reviewed by Bottles4College and its affiliates for the purpose of this 2026 Bottles4College Scholarship. 

    10. Bottles4College Aloha rule: Bottles4College perpetuate the true spirit of Aloha. This scholarship application and selection process is set up to ensure unbiased selection of the Final Awardees. While only select Applicant(s) will be the final awardee of the scholarship this year, we ask that everyone to be proud and hold the highest standard and ethics of integrity, respect, and utmost Aloha for one another and the final winners. This is not a competition nor bias based scholarship, so we appreciate everyone's understanding and pono. 

  • Video Submission Guidelines

     

    Upload on Youtube as a Private Video. Enter email: bottles4college@gmail.com to share your video with. 

    Be sure to include your full name and current school in your video introduction so your video can be correctly identified. Optionally, you may include your full name in the title of the video. 


    Below is an excerpt from Google:

    Private videos and playlists can only be seen by you and whomever you choose. Your private videos won’t appear in the Videos tab of your channel homepage. They also won't show up in YouTube's search results. YouTube systems and human reviewers may review private videos for ad suitability, copyright, and other abuse prevention mechanisms.

    To share a private video:

    Sign in to YouTube Studio.
    From the left menu, select Content.
    Click the video you’d like to edit.
    Click the Visibility box and select Share privately.
    Enter the emails you'd like to share your video with, then select SAVE.
    Comments are not available on private videos. If you want to allow comments on a video that's not publicly available, change the privacy setting to unlisted.

    Note: The default video privacy setting for creators aged 13–17 is private. If you’re 18 or older, your default video privacy setting is set to public. Everyone can change this setting to make their video public, private, or unlisted.
