  • 🐾 Welcome to Brashawin Yakutian Laikas
We understand this is an incredibly exciting time for our prospective puppy families!

At Brashawin Kennels, we have dedicated over 20 years to research, refinement, and a commitment to breeding exceptional dogs. While our foundation began with German Shepherds, our passion has extended to the majestic Yakutian Laika—a breed known for its intelligence, affection, adaptability, and striking beauty.

Our priority remains the same: health, temperament, and sound structure. We breed Yakutian Laikas that are loyal, energetic, family-oriented, and true to the historical characteristics of this rare northern breed.

...Everything a Yakutian Laika should be…

    🧬 Our Selection Process
At Brashawin, selection is based on compatibility, not “first come, first served.” Each puppy is carefully matched with a family based on lifestyle, goals, and experience. This is why our application asks detailed questions—we want to ensure your new companion fits seamlessly into your life.

We have worked hard to source exceptional bloodlines and bring you puppies of outstanding quality. We're confident that a Brashawin Yakutian Laika will exceed your expectations.

    💰 Reservation & Waitlist Fee
A non-refundable wait list fee of $500 is required to secure a place on our reservation list.

    Why We Require a Deposit
Your reservation fee confirms your intent and helps us plan responsible, purposeful litters—not breed simply for demand. Our years of dedication have positioned us to select the best possible puppy for your situation. While you may be the last to apply, you could be the first to be matched.

    🔁 Deposit Conditions
What happens if the breeding doesn’t proceed?
If our breeding plans are delayed or a female does not conceive, your deposit will automatically roll over to the next available litter.

What if you change your mind?
While the waitlist fee is non-refundable, it is transferable to any other future litter.

🐶 Matching You with the Right Puppy
We know choosing the right puppy can feel overwhelming. You might wonder:

What kind of temperament fits my family?
What traits should I be looking for?
How do I know this puppy is "the one"?
That’s where our experience and matching process shine. We evaluate each pup and each applicant to make the best possible fit—your lifestyle, energy level, goals, and preferences all matter. You can trust that we’ll help guide this choice with your best interests (and the puppy’s!) in mind.

    🏥 Health Protocols
Before going to their new homes, every puppy receives:

    A comprehensive veterinary check
    Microchipping
    Worming and core vaccinations
A veterinary certificate will be included in your puppy pack.

    📜 Registration & Pedigree
Each Brashawin Yakutian Laika is registered with Dogs Australia (formerly ANKC) via Dogs NSW. Unless otherwise agreed, all puppies are sold with limited registration—suitable for loving companions or sporting homes, but not for breeding.

    ✅ Health Guarantee
We stand by our puppies. If a genetic condition is diagnosed that significantly impacts your dog’s quality of life or performance (verified by a veterinarian), we offer a replacement guarantee valid until the age of 2 years.

We also require that every new family signs a Contract of Sale, which is designed to protect the well-being of each puppy and clarify our shared responsibilities.

  • Getting to Know You and Your Home

This section helps us understand more about your household, lifestyle, and environment, all key factors in matching each Yakutian Laika puppy with the most compatible family. There are no right or wrong answers here. Every home is unique, and your honest responses allow us to ensure your puppy’s transition is as smooth and successful as possible.

  • Please Read Carefully Before Submitting Your Application

Completing this application is an important step in the process of acquiring a puppy from Brashawin German Shepherd Kennels, but it does not guarantee the allocation of a puppy from this or any future litter. While it is rare, we reserve the right to refuse placement at any time, at our sole discretion.

Reservation Fee & Waiting List Policy
If your application is approved, you will be notified and asked to pay a $500 non-refundable reservation fee to secure a place on our waiting list. By submitting this payment, you are committing to taking a puppy from the litter we assign, regardless of specific gender or colour preferences.

    Please note:

    • Our selection process is based on compatibility, not on a first-come, first-served basis.
    • If you choose not to take a puppy from the assigned litter, your reservation fee will be transferred to the next available litter.
    • Reservation fees are strictly non-refundable.

    Breeder's Right to Retain Puppies
From time to time, we may decide to retain a puppy from a litter for our breeding program. We reserve the right to hold back puppies for evaluation purposes, which may mean that specific puppies will not be available until a final decision is made, this may take a couple of weeks.

    Puppy Collection Policy
Puppies will be ready to go to their new homes at 8 weeks of age.
We do not allow any puppy to leave our property before this time — no exceptions.

If you require an extended collection date, arrangements must be made in advance, and a small boarding fee may apply.

    Contract of Sale
All placements require a signed Contract of Sale prior to collection. This contract outlines the rights and responsibilities of both the breeder and the buyer to ensure transparency and protection for both parties. It is a detailed document, and we encourage you to review it in full prior to puppy pick-up. If you have any questions about the terms, please contact us beforehand.

    Registration & Spay/Neuter Policy

    • All puppies are sold with Limited Registration unless otherwise agreed upon prior to the birth of the litter.
    • Spaying or neutering must not be performed until after 18 months of age, to support the puppy’s proper physical development and long-term health.
