• Love Bristol, Love Broadmead: Playful Broadmead Fairy Door Project 2026

  • We are inviting volunteers to create Fairy Doors for the Bristol BID’s ‘Love Bristol, Love Broadmead’ programme as part of the summer theme, Playful Broadmead July – August 2026

  • The Broadmead Fairy Doors project provides a playful way to engage with Bristol’s city centre and view its’ buildings in new ways.

Hunting for imaginative miniature portals provides a fun activity for children and families to enjoy in the school summer holidays.

Makers are invited to produce durable, imaginative miniature doors that are safe for the public, weather-resistant, and suitable for long-term outdoor display. The doors and their locations should appeal to multi-generational groups, including older adults and younger children, promoting conversation, connection, playfulness and joy.

  • This is an eight-week project.

In June participants will sign-up to making a door, and locations will be negotiated with premises owners by the Bristol BID team.

In July the doors will be designed and created for installation at the end of the month.

In August the completed trail will launch on National Play Day - Wednesday 5 August.
