There aren't too many places in the contiguous US states that offer lovelier weather in January than Orlando. Gardens are filled with Roses, Camillia, Northern Magnolias, and a variety of other wildflowers.
This is the perfect opportunity and environment to hold a Lensbaby Clinic and Workshop so Jacki Spearly and I are dedicating 8 days at the end of January 2025 for just this purpose.
3-Day Agenda:
The night before the workshop starts, Jacki and I will hold a "Meet and Greet". This will allow us to get acquainted. Jacki will have a hand-out that you will want to refer to over the next few days and I will be reviewing best-case scenarios for camera settings.
Day 1 Clinic: We have a wonderful florist in Orlando who will supply us with a variety of flowers for all of you to practice with. Starting at 8:45 AM you will learn to use your Lensbaby lenses/optics along with a tripod. We will break for lunch at 11:45 AM and then after lunch, you will learn to hand-hold your camera using your Lensbaby lenses/optics. This day is such an important step in the learning process because Jacki and I will be teaching you how to focus. We will be hands-on with you to give you the confidence to capture flowers successfully. The afternoon session will conclude at about 3:15 PM. Then, at 6:30 in the evening, there will be an image review that will allow you to share your images, get input from Jacki and me, and learn a few post-processing tips.
Days 2 and 3 Workshop: Each day we will visit a different garden, both of which are in the top two best gardens in central Florida: Bok Tower and Gardens, and Leu Gardens. Both have a wonderful variety of flowers that are sure to please. Our goal is to arrive at each garden shortly before the 9:00 AM opening time and photograph until about 2:00 PM. Then back to the hotel for some relaxation and we will meet again at 6:30 PM for the image review and post-processing tips.
As a Lensbaby Ambassador, Jacki is offering to obtain a lens and optic of your choice so that you can try out something new. If you do not currently own a Lensbaby lens or optic, this is your opportunity to give it a try! With guidance from Jacki and myself, you will surely pick up even more Lensbaby skills.
Cost and Payment Options:
The 3-day Clinic/Workshop is $995. To book the workshop, a $695 non-refundable deposit is required. The remainder of your Clinic/Workshop balance ($300) is due January 5, 2025, and will be automatically charged to the same card you use for today's deposit.
