SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS
Abstract may only be submitted electronically.
• Submission deadline is February 22, 2026, at 11:59 p.m., EST. Deadline will not be extended under any circumstances.
• Abstract total word limit is 300 (not including title, authors, and institutions)
• Abstract must include background, methods, results, and conclusions
Abstract Guidelines
Abstracts are to be uploaded as a Microsoft Word attachment.
Please follow the style guidelines of the abstract format listed below, and adhere to the following specifications:
- Margins: 1/2"
- Submissions must all be under 1 page
- Include the headings “Background”, “Methods”, “Results” and “Conclusions” in bold
- Text Alignment: Justified
- Typeface: Times New Roman
- Type size: 12 Point
- Abstract Title: Bold, justified left and capitalize first word only
- Authors: Underline the name of the presenting author. Include Co-Authors and their affiliations. Link authors to their affiliations using superscript numbers (e.g. Jane A. Doe1).
- Institution: Italics
- Abstracts are to be uploaded as a Microsoft Word attachment. You must use our template for your submission: https://22qsociety.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/International-22q11.2-Conference-Abstract-Template.docx. Abstracts submitted not using the conference template will be returned for correction and resubmission. - File name must be “LastName_FirstName_22qAbstract2026”. If submitting more than one abstract, please number them 1, 2, 3, etc. at the end of the file name.
PLEASE NOTE – Abstracts that are submitted without correct formatting or file name will be returned for correction and resubmission. The abstract submission deadline will not be extended to accommodate resubmissions. Please check that you have turned off track changes.
Images/figures cannot be included in the abstract submission.
• Previously presented work will be considered for review.
• Published work will not be considered for review.
• Submitting authors are expected to attend the meeting.
• If, for some unforeseen reason, following abstract submission the original submitting author cannot attend the meeting it is the responsibility of the submitting author to ensure that a co-author presents the paper/poster.
• Presenting author changes must be communicated in writing to the program committee.
• The program committee has the right to limit the number of presentations by an individual attendee.
• Repetitive changes in presenting authors could result in future sanctions to submitting authors/sites.
• A written request must be made to withdraw an abstract by March 2, 2026.
• Acceptance of an abstract does not include conference registration fees, transportation, or lodging.
• Presenters must submit payment of registration fees by the deadline date noted in the letter of acceptance.
• Paid registration is REQUIRED to attend the conference and present a paper/poster.
• Submission of an abstract DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY RESULT IN REGISTRATION for the conference.
• If registration payment is not received by the deadline date noted in the letter of acceptance, the abstract(s) will be automatically withdrawn and will not appear in the Program book.
