How It Works
- Landlord completes and submits the Landlord Program Utilities Authorization online form listing all enrolled properties under each business entitiy. Ownership documentation may be required for property enrollment.
- When a tenant contacts BVU Customer Support to voluntarily close their utility account at an enrolled address, a meter reading is obtained for final billing on the tenant's account.
- The Landlord notifies BVU of their intent to maintain service at the address.
- The Landlord's account will be made active, and the Landlord will be responsible for all services and charges, up until the time that a new tenant establishes service on their own account with Customer Support. Likewise, the Landlord may contact BVU Customer Support to voluntarily close the utility account.
- When a new tenant contacts Customer Support to open an account at the enrolled address, a meter reading is obtained for final billing on the Landlord's account.
- A new account becomes active in the new tenant's name, with no disruption of services.
- Landlords MUST maintain a good or excellent pay history on all accounts with BVU for continued participation.
