  • INSTRUCTIONS:

    If you are interested in applying for a Counselor position, please complete this application and submit it for consideration. After reviewing your application to ensure you meet the minimum requirements, we will contact you to schedule an interview.   • COUNSELOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Camp Barnes is a residential overnight camp for children ages 10-13.
    • Camp Barnes is not a co-ed camp (boys one week, girls the next, etc.)
    • Camp Barnes starts the week June 22nd and concludes the week of July 27th. The last day of camp is July 31st (required to stay until July 31st).
    • Camp Barnes runs for 𝘀𝗶𝘅 (𝟲) 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸𝘀.
    • You will be required to sleep in a cabin with your campers
    • You will be required to stay at the camp 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝟵:𝟬𝟬 𝗔𝗠 𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝟯:𝟯𝟬𝗣𝗠.
      You will have the 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗳𝗳
    • Mandatory Training for counselors will be held prior to camp. You will be paid for training days and lunch will be provided.
    • Pay starts at $𝟲5𝟬.𝟬𝟬 𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸. Certified Lifeguards will be paid an additional $100.00 per week.
    • Some of the Main Responsibilities:
      • Supervise 10-18 campers per week on a 24-hour basis.
      • Lead campers in activities
      • Assist with the planning of daily events
      • Teach and lead campers with all activities
      • Maintain a clean cabin, bathroom and program area
      • Basic First Aid (Training will be provided if necassary)
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

    2. Must possess a valid driver's license.

    3. Must be at least 17 years old and currently enrolled in high school or college.

    4.Must be able to work well with others and communicate effectively.

    5. Must provide professional references.

    6. Must pass a criminal background check conducted by the Delaware State Police.

    7. Direct deposit of paychecks is required as a condition of employment.
