• What We Do

  • Capital Blues Inc was established in 1996 and is one of the oldest existing blues/roots music clubs in the southern hemisphere.

    The Constitution of the club requires that it provide an outlet for blues and roots music in the Wellington region and gets the music genre heard. To date this has been achieved by running weekly gigs, running landmark events and taking part in major local festivals. (Like CubaDupa and the Wellington Jazz Festival.)

    Please note, this is for a calendar year (January to December).

    Becoming a part of the Blues Club Whānau comes with it's perks! 

    • Personal membership card emailed to you on receipt of payment. (If requested)
    • Entry into the members-only jackpotting bar tab. (At our gigs at Jack Hackett's)
    • Discounted food and drinks (At our gigs at Underworld Tavern.)
    • Support quality live blues acts to continue to play in Wellington.
    • Be a part of electing the committee in charge of running and organising the gigs, marketing etc.
