ABOUT CATALYST MERCANTILE

AND WHY YOU SHOULD APPLY!
WHO IS CATALYST MERCANTILE?

We are working to create a cohesive boutique shopping experience by offering floor space to local makers and small businesses who may not otherwise have the capital to have their own store front or expansion locations. Our goal is to help strengthen communities by supporting and celebrating local artisans and small business owners.

WHO SHOULD APPLY?

Any artisan/small business owner who is interested in branching out to brick and mortar locations but without the high cost of entry.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
- We are offering parcels of display space in increments of approx. 10 sq ft.
  - Examples of 1 parcel:
    
    1 3'X1' shelving unit containing 3 shelves
    
    1 3'-4' table
    
    1 clothing rack
    
    1 greeting card display
- Parcels will be rented on a monthly basis with the following pricing structures dependant on the type of business represented:
  - Handcrafted businesses will operate on a 50/50 split of the retail sale.
  - Handpicked businesses (Boutiques offering Clothing/Shoes) will be charged $200/month per parcel of display space. In addition to rent, a commission of 20% of the retail sale price of each item will go to Catalyst Mercantile.
- Working in the store is not expected of our vendors, but we do encourage and welcome any ideas for parties or events you might want to host such as Trunk Shows, DIY Nights, etc.
- Vendor payouts from sales will occur on a monthly basis.
HOW MUCH SPACE CAN I HAVE?

Catalyst Mercantile reserves the right to increase or decrease the space alloted to you based on your inventory performance. New vendors will start with 1 standard parcel (based on product type) and after 3 months, we will discuss future options.

IS THIS IN-STORE ONLY?

Catalyst Mercantile also offers ecommerce sales in addition to shopping in-store. Catalyst Mercantile handles shipping and handling of all online orders. You will be required to provide photos and descriptions of all products being offered at the store.

Catalyst Mercantile display space contract offers will be extended with consideration of the following criteria:
- Current product offering
  - Catalyst Mercantile will make every effort to limit duplication among contracted artisans
  - Catalyst Mercantile will not accept product that is vulgar or inappropriate in nature
    
    Inappropriate is defined as overtly offensive to a group (or groups) of people
- Desired contract terms & length
  - Priority will be given to 6 month agreements
- Availability of display space with consideration to overall store aesthetic and shopability
